There is no reliable way to do cost per day. Every dog is different, they require different calories per day depending on various things including their weight & activity level. Not to mention dog foods cost different prices all over the US.
If you’re looking for a budget friendly food and are an Editors Choice member, there is a list of those foods.
I guess I don’t think of veggies as being in a raw diet whether they’re raw or not. JMO I’m sure not paying for additional veggies in the raw I buy.
Instinct is NOT 100% raw….unless I missed something, there is veggies and other ingredients. It’s fine to feed veggies if you want but that is not 100% raw. By the way, there are companies such as Raw Feeding Miami, Hare Today, My Pet Carnivore that are just raw.
Joanne, did you read the view for Health Extension?
Thanks c4c! I havent had good luck with dogs living long; I pray for Boone to live a few more years as long as he’s relatively healthy
Thanks Sanne, we think so!
I did Sandy, thanks!
What are you looking to improve?
Maybe someone will respond. I wouldn’t feed it, I don’t want other things in my raw but that’s just me. Good luck!January 18, 2019 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Need opinions please on Titan or Eureka Raw dog food? #129816 Report Abuse
I responded to you on the other thread
I don’t understand why they add wheat germ oil, fish, eggs and vitamins.
I feed ground raw and it’s just meat/ one/organs. I buy from Hare Today
I can’t comment about the large breed or not but senior dogs need more protein, not less.
I’m not in favor of mature food. Some mature dogs are overweight and a low cal/“diet” food can be helpful. I wouldn’t bother.
I suggest trying different brands….some of us aren’t Blue fans, myself included. It’s important to have a handful of different foods your dogs do well on. Vary the brands and the proteins.
I see a list of ingredients not dog foods but since the writer doesn’t seem to be very literate, it’s hard for *me* to take them seriously.
Yes the owner is still around. He has a job and a life outside of DFA. What about now Then”Orijen Acana Mess” wasn’t handled to your liking?
It’s a website. It’s not the end all that beats all. Nowhere does it say to believe only what DFA says. No one should depend on “here”. No one is making you stay here and read/post. If you don’t like it here, there are many other places to go to.
By the way, there’s nothing wrong with recalls as a whole. It depends what the recall is for, how it’s handled and how many the company has had.
Did you read the large breed puppy thread in the diet and health forum?
I read that the sale has already happened; who knows if it’s true.
I’m sorry for your losses.
Thanks Bobby Dog and merry Christmas! I appreciate your answers!
Anon: it didn’t post. Kept loading. Working now. Thanks for the response!
Bobby Dog…..hi! Do you have an opinion on foods?
(Hope this posts….tried posting a thank you to Anon but it’s not showing)
Caroline, you can add boneless meat if stool is hard & crumbly.
For who, ever would like to reply: what dry foods do you think are good considering all that is going on lately?
Open Farm food *has* been reviewed.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom and click “contact us”.
I agree with anon but will add to feed each in their own crate.
Daryl, you can’t be charged if you don’t put your credit card info in. If you’re charged somehow, contact your credit card company.
Look at Hare Today, Reel Raw, My Pet Carnivore, Raw Feeding Miami. All are reputable Raw food companies. I live in NH, buy from Hare and have for years. Yes there is shipping but it would be cheaper than a premade raw. You would need a stand alone freezer. I don’t know about the rest but Hare offers rewards back for purchases, reviews, sharing photos etc
It makes no sense to add pasta and rice to a raw diet. Add eggs to one meal a few times a week and up his feed.
If you’re in the US and have a free standing freezer, you may want to look at Hare Today, Raw Feeding Miami and My Pet Carnivore. All have complete grinds and maybe cheaper, even with shipping.
Alan, this is the dog Food Advisor. Dog food is NOT sold here. You need to contact Dr Marty’s .November 8, 2018 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Best thing to feed a 7 week old very small Cheagle #126072 Report Abuse
What kind of mix is a Cheagle? Beagle something or other?

I think the bulk of us here do not live where this dog is…..we probably can’t answer your question. I know I can’t.
Late to the thread but when my youngest dog came home at 9 weeks, he went directly to ground raw with bones for dental health.
I wouldn’t be buying meds from there Devin. They can be counterfeit. Do some reasearch on counterfeit pet meds.
Hi c4c I just ordered yesterday, grain inclusive.
I agree, harder on me!
Anon: I never click links like this, even the ones that come to my email, asking me to confirm my Apple purchase LOL
I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since I fed grain inclusive foods. I ordered a bag of Victor Hi Pro Plis & Dr Tim’s Kinesis (wanted Pursuit but can’t find it in a 30lb or less bag). I’ve got to try to be honest about my opinions as I’ve fed grainfree for so long.
Hypoallergenic? If dogs have food allergies or sensitivities, they’re unique to each dog. One dog food, even if hyped as hypoallergenic, isn’t going to work for every dog. If you know what your dog can’t have, look at ingredient lists or try Google and be specific about what not to be in ingredient list.
Thanks for adopting this pup! Have you tried something like The Honest Kitchen? Some of them are soupier, some oatmeal consistency.
Pitlove is right about Ol Roy/EA. I’ve never looked at the Walmart pet section. Yuck!
Click the “library” above in the red line and look at the dry food recommendations.
Wow, our dog are growing up! Can’t believe Brady is two!
If you have dislocating knees, knee replacements might be in your future too!
Darn, was hoping you were on FB.
C4c: yep, on 8/27, I will have 3 out of 4 new joints & am pretty darn sure the fourth will be done by the end of next June!
Pups are good. Ginger was just 8, O’Malley will be 3 in just over a month & my little Boonie -Butt is 12.5! They’re enjoying me being home: I had my second hip replaced. Weeks ago…will be home for quite a few months as I’m having my right knee replaced in 8/27!
Send me an email sometime. Any chance you’ve joined FB?
HoundMusic: HI!! Hope you’re well!
Knock on wood, Boone is good. I must say, he has always been the dog that if he gives us signs, and we ignore them, he’s gonna go. It’s our fault.
Anon: Every 2 hrs? You should have told that to Boone when he was a puppy. He was horrible…we’d walk him outside and whether he peed or not, he’d come in and go four times in ten minutes. I honestly cried. He is why it took me 9yrs to say yes to a puppy. Luckily O’Malley was easy.
Phyllis, where is the bone?
I feel stupid. What does “breeders advantage formula” mean?
The amount and “quality” of poop is individual to the dog. One of mine needs a low fiber food. BTW, vegan foods are not recommended. Do some research.
