How do I get pepper’s & Millie’s photo to appear instead of that blob that appears-their photo appears in comments section but not here,I can’t get that avatar to change, is there a trick I am too dense to see. 🙁

Did you end up buying anything? Lol

I got my order from PetFlow today! I’m very impressed with everything!

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/9355C584-6C86-4372-85BC-79F765DBF4BB_zpsmkf6xbif.jpg

Just so you can get an idea on how big those cows feet are, we have 1 ft tiles… LOL The three bags of tracheas, I’m super happy with. They are all much bigger than 3 inches each, and there are 6 in one bag, and 7 in two of the bags. Can’t wait to try them out on Bentley.

I’m glad I only paid a couple cents a piece for the Pet Botanic rolls because they are SMALL. They’ll go in Haley and Dweezles food later for a nice treat.

The Halo chews and beef filets are a hit with Ginger and Bentley, as are the cows feet with Haley and Dweezle. And I can’t wait to see how the cat likes his treats. Over all, very happy with everything. For less than $1 a piece, who wouldn’t be!

I’m getting a Shiloh Shepherd pup in about 10 days. The breeder recommends Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy because of its low calcium/phosphorus. I didn’t see that in the list, though. Is there a problem with Eukanuba?

Sorry guys, yahoo decided I don’t need update emails *rolls eyes*

Her cough is very random. I did loosen the front of her harness some. We’ll see how that helps. She wears her harness all the time because she needs to go out so frequently and there are still certain things that freak her out, putting the harness on and taking it off and being picked up being a couple of those. It’s easier all around to leave it on. She’s the only one of the dogs that doesn’t go naked.

As for the tumors. One is on her neck, but it’s not attached to the muscle underneath. It’s attached only to the skin, so it hangs there all awkwardly. The other is more closer to her chest, but sits just at the bottom of her neck, right by her trachea and such. That one is attached to the muscle.

And her weight, she actually doesn’t have any weight to lose. She’s very akward shaped. Her back legs are longer than her front legs, and her body shaped like a little sausage. Here’s a pic of her from above.

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/76DE08BC-6D30-4932-B9FC-95675DB7E462_zpsbed6s6gn.jpg

She’s also got some tumors on her tummy that add to the big belly look from the side.

Thanks for all the feed back guys! I will try very hard to save up for her dental. He recommends blood work, but said we could skip it as long as I understood the risks involved. I definitely don’t want to do it with out blood work. It’ll be at least $300 for just the blood work and cleaning. It’s extra for any teeth that need to be pulled, and lord knows she needs teeth pulled. Who needs money anyways?? Eating and paying bills is optional -_- lol

Its heeeeere! I forgot all the shipping stupidness with new years and everything lol So I got it today! It was poorly taped up, and they are lucky nothing fell out, but the inside was nicely packed, with a big bubble pouch thing in between the two bags.

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/21E5C822-5512-4667-B261-9930EFC2E784_zpsanakshj8.jpg

She’s been real ouchy the last week or so, so I’m going to ahead and start her on the PVD tomorrow. I’ve only got about 2 cups of her Wellness left, but if she needs a longer transition, I have a couple more 2lb bags of it just in case.

Fingers crossed this helps her. I’m back to being unsure about this whole Purina thing… lol

The single 5.5 oz cans on the left are for raw in the morning and and a can at night. The rest of the meals are 3oz cans in the morning and 5.5 oz cans at night. Two funny combinations that’s happened during sorting:

Wellness in the morning, 9Lives at night:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/63C91AD6-7959-41F4-B1EE-4B00423A09AF_zps90rbtcqp.jpg

And raw in the morning and Friskies Sausesations at night:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/BBD4B1CC-ADCF-4DAC-8021-A5D1ED5F6BF3_zpsfmr8rsvk.jpg

I can’t decide which is worse LOL Only at my house…. Both of these are the last cans, Btw. I try to spread out the super junk as much as I can, that why I still have these. The rest of his food is good, though! Or at least decent for the most part lol

Halo Impulse, Wellness, Authority Flaked Turkey, some sort of Blue Buffalo Healthy Gourmet, Newmans Own, Sheba, my two selected Friskies Special Diet and Fancy Feast varieties each. Oh, and some Insticnt Pride. I think there may be one more, but I’m not sure… lol

Hello. I just got one if these “plastic” threads stuck in my finger while reaching into the bag to get out a treat. I am in shock. It is exactly as you describe. I absolutely feel sick as we feed these often to our fur baby. I took photos and will be contacting Pedigree as well as posting this everywhere. Did either of you get a response?

First of all, thank you SO MUCH for rescuing!!! I would agree with Susan to find out what the dog was eating at the shelter, and keep her on that for at least a week. Then, slowly transition her over at least 7-10 days, more if she needs it, to 4-Health or another well-rated food. If she is underweight than you will want to feed her more than the recommended amount, and possibly more often too. Check with your vet about that. Once she is healthy, you could select a few other quality foods to rotate with (with slow transitions) because no on food is perfect. Good luck!

And Chi Pit mixes actually can exist, as weird as it seems I live in an area where both breeds are so common that it is inevitable.

You can use photobucket to post pictures, just copy the “direct link” on the right side of the page.

Hi Amy, are you show a Pit Bull mixed with a Chihuahua, I cant see that happening, LOL… A Chihuahua is so tiny & a Pit bull is a medium to large dog…Try her on 4health what your feeding Marley & see how she goes..
What was she eating at the shelter? you mite be better buying that & after she settles in then start slowly mix in her new food over 10 days….
Good-Luck with Minnie, I’d love to see a photo of them both..

Today Bruno had 1/4 + 1/8th cup of Castor & Pollux Ultramix GF Duck and Sweet Potato, with 1/2 of a pouch of some new local food – Have Dogs – as a topper. It is chicken-based, with chicken, fish oil, bone meal, vitamin E, and egg. Normally on Tuesday he gets yoghurt or kefir on his kibble but he really didn’t like the plain non-fat one I got by mistake (I normally get plain full-fat yoghurt), so he wouldn’t eat it at all last week. For dinner he had same Castor & Pollux with 1 tsp. THK Keen. We just got on Castor & Pollux from Back to Basics Open Range, and next kibble up will be Wysong Nurture with Quail. Treats we use right now for training are are Fromm Pork and Pea and TOTW Southwest Canyon from sample baggies, and also Annamaet Manitok and Canidae Pure Bison and Sweet Potato as grand rewards or when he is simply irresistible. He didn’t have any of those today, but he did have 1 chicken heart and a piece of chicken liver as I had bought some and I was portioning them out, so I just HAD to give him some while they were still fresh and not yet frozen up. He gulped them immediately.

Tomorrow Bruno will have same kibble with raw egg as a topper for breakfast and BDN Tripe Supreme as a topper for dinner. Bruno’s menu is pretty predictable and set, written out even to help hubby if I’m not home. I will post a picture of it too. On occasion I do vary it though, like I will for Christmas and like I did on Thanksgiving. And I have several cans that are not penciled in his menu, just so I can spice things up. RMBs for him are usually chicken/pork/beef neck pieces.

     photo Bruno2014-2015Menu_zps6ccc6e19.jpg

     photo BrunoWeeklyToppers_zpsdfd1a9be.jpg

I also, like Dori, feed Bruno nothing after 7pm or 8pm latest. He doesn’t eat breakfast until 9-10am or so. On occasion he fasts himself for 24hrs or so, if he decides he doesn’t like the yoghurt I have gotten, lol, or if he is just too full or something. He is decent with food and always happy to eat, as his meals are controlled so that he’s lean, healthy, and enjoys some variety.

I also have some Etta Says chews laying around, but the deer one gave him diarrhea, so I am cautious and want to be sure his tummy will be fully good when I give him another of the chews. I also only give him 1/2 at a time of those, and 1/2 of the biscuits (Annamaet and Canidae) when he does get them. From the kibble treats (Fromm and TOTW) he gets about 1/8th cup of either one when we do training or play puzzle games, which is about every other day. He can chew on his antler freely anytime, all day if he wants, and I also just got him a stingray tail chew, which may be a bit hard for him to get through as it is thicker than his usual ones, but he has unlimited access to it too. Other things we give on a whim are bully sticks, cow/lamb ears, pig snouts, chicken/duck feet, Himalayan Chews, fish skins, and the like.

I must say DodFoodie , I got the same disconnect as you did RE: ” maybe the second one got sick when the first one did ” I guess it could be POSSIBLE …. I DON’T KNOW , I would bet hundreds that they didn’t . Highly unlikely is my thought . But the gut punch kind of took my mind off that . I have felt the pain she has & still do , likely not as bad at this time . This may sound off the wall but , I had a dream about 3 months after we lost Frosty , he came to me & told me I had enough pain & it was time to move on . It did help a little , 30% +/- ?? I have had to think back 30 years when I lost my first dog , I remember deep pain , that is long gone now & I can think of him & all of them I have lost , with no pain at all . Now I am looking forward to the time I can think of Frosty the same way . I am not there yet ! I have been looking for a new pup , that may help . No hurry , I will find him when I find him . I think my other dog also wants a new friend . I do have lots of photos & some video of most of them , That helps a little .

It’s always been that tear-dropped shaped lump, and the part that swelled and burst is at the top, in the rounded area. You can see some blood and what-nots still in the fur there. Her fur holds on to grime and stink a little too efficiently for my liking. It does not bother her, and never has, nor has it ever been hot to the touch. It’s never had hair on it, since I’ve had her.

Just to be clear, as I’m Googling images, it wasn’t a formed, ropey puss, it was more like half-set jello. It held its form when left alone, but it changed shape fluidly under manipulation.

So here’s what I’m going to try here soon:

I downloaded an app called iBotta. You buy everyday grocery items, take a picture of the bar code on the product, and your receipt, and you get back a specified amount if that item is on the list. When you accumulate $10, you can put it in a paypal account, or on a gift card. They currently have a rebate for $5 off any 4lb or larger Bil Jac dog food. I still have the $5 off PetSmart dog or cat food coupon, and I just got a $3 off Bil Jac manufacture coupon in the mail. If I buy the 4lb Farmers Bounty that is on sale for $13.99, I will be paying $0.99 cents for it!

You can share photos from photobucket here in the forum. I’d also recommend looking up “body condition score” and find what where your dog is at on that scale. This feeding guideline is from primalpetfoods dot com:

    Feeding Percentages
    1.5% Weight Loss
    2.0% Non-Active
    2.5% Maintain Weight **
    3.0% Slight Weight Gain
    3.5% Significant Weight Gain
    4.0% Kittens/Puppies (8 weeks-1 year)
    4.5-8.0% Kittens/Puppies (4-8 weeks)
    4.0-8.0% Pregnant/Lactating

    Hello All,

I haven’t been on in a while, but I recently switched one of my dogs to a 100% raw diet (over time of course). However, I’m just not sure how much I should be feeding. I started it 3 weeks ago, supplementing with Dinovite, because of severe paw licking (to the point she has bad sores). We are guessing she is over 10-13 years old since we took her in about 4 years ago. She is a little “porky” to begin with, but I’m wondering if she just has a wide chest. I’m not really sure if she is overweight or just “girthy” for her size. I’ve noticed her waist tapering a little, but I want to ensure that I’m also not underfeeding her. She was last weighted in about 40 lbs. when I took her to the vet and I’ve been told by vets she was a little overweight. She is considered a medium size dog. The best guess I can give is either part Corgi and terrier. I don’t see any place to submit a photo otherwise I would do so. I’m not really sure how much she should weigh, but I’m thinking if I’ve been told she was overweight, then she can afford to lose 5-10 lbs. If that is the case, how much raw should I be feeding for a 30-40 lb medium dog per day (preferably in oz)? Anyway, I feed my dogs twice a day so they are eating smaller meals (my other two are Weimaraners and they suggest this for bloat). Thank you!

This is the response I got back from Health Extensions:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/8A7F98F8-378C-497A-829D-8DD016BC3FB0_zps7gsrsdrd.png

It doesn’t make much sence to me, however, the Publix Premium brand has 500 mg/kg, so for the price between these two, and as far as joint support goes, the Publix Premium would be the way to go. However, it’s not the most fantastic looking ingredient wise, with by-products as the second or so ingredient. It’s looking like the PVD JM is going to be the way to go, if I can’t find something else. Still unsure on that front. I will be making an appointment at the vet Thursday, money and time permitting.

    True enough.

I just realized the glucosamine values never made it up here. I’ll fix that… According to the site, it’s 119 mg of glucosamine per cup of food. Plus all that other stuff (vitamins E and C, and Omegas 3 and 6).

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/089CB3EA-9F7C-4013-949B-6657588BA4CE_zpsvhsotvu5.png

I’m also looking at Health Extensions Lite and Health Extensions Little Bites. Both list glucosamine and chondroiton in their ingredient lists. I emailed the company and asked for the mg per cup so I could compare it with the JM. The biggest difference I can see just between the two Health Extensions foods is the Lite only has 9% fat (and 380-something kcal/cup) and the other one has 12% fat (and 400-something kcal/cup). Makes me thing the glucosamine and chondroiton will probably be close, if not the same.

Dori, to post a picture through photobucket, you have to post the direct link, like this:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/EC45D827-13BA-4E94-BB4D-26B1D89EF7A7_zpsnlf7ddbp.png

Susan, I’m looking at sweaters that bag Velcro on the belly, but also have good coverage on the belly. Also can’t have holes that her front legs have to go through. Need something that goes on and off quickly, because she tries to bite me, out of a combination of not liking having the thing put on, and knowing that once it’s on, she gets to go on a walk and she wants to get down and run to the door. It’s a trick finding just the right one that fits, but we’ll figure it out lol In th mean time, we do have the one that’s too big.

Girl I know how to use PhotoBucket! You must be thinking of someone else lol

Ginger still doesn’t have a jacket that fits. Her sweater the neighbor gave us is too big and she walks right out of it. The next size down looks like it maybe too small, though. Stupid dog and her awkward shape lol She shivers when the house gets below 75. She has to be under the covers or snuggled up to someone :p

YAY! You’ve got photo bucket down consistently now!!! I still haven’t gotten the hang of it. She’s a real cutie.

Yeah, indoor older dogs seem to not do too well when it gets cold outside. I always put a coat on Hannah when it gets really unusually cold here (under 40 degrees) but don’t on Katie and Lola unless it was like last year that we had a lot of snow here in Atlanta. They would spend so much time in the yard playing and loving it but then come in soaking wet with ice and snow stuck to them. So coats for all of them last winter.

That’s what I thought! I would never, nor have I ever actually photocopied an already printed coupon. Or resell the coupons or the stuff I bought! I never even thought people would do this, lol.

And woot woot for the deal!!! You are by all means fantastic at this stuff! I’d love to have you over to visit and do a coupon spree at my local PetSmart so you can educate some people on some coupon stuff… Or simply manners… LoL. AND just so we can hang out too! 🙂 If you’re ever in GA, north of Atlanta, let me know! 🙂

And quick question, Akari – do they pay you back for the cans if they’re less than $2.00? Or just use the coupon anyway?

Hey, all, I have a question. Can one be reported for coupon misuse or something like that post-factum, like after the transaction has been completed store left, etc.? For example, for the deal I got for Snowy, if the manager who checked me out were to get in trouble, could he try to report me for using too many coupons or something? And the Wellness coupons do say no photocopies or reproductions, something like that – does that mean you can only print one? And if you did print more and a cashier was to accept them all, is it on you or the cashier if they weren’t supposed to take them all? Can the company get you through an IP address on the coupon or something?

I thought so. Here’s the ingredients list:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/94ECE872-B7BA-4635-9E5E-881C063BED8F_zps8ulniyc0.png

    And the GA:

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/A083CE42-D2DF-4D5E-AC95-4297EAA61FA0_zpsa9aylmxv.png

I haven’t quite decided if I’ll rotate or not. It would let me take advantage of deals, but it could screw her stomach all up. However, taking canned out of her diet has made her really great in the tummy-department. She’s on Wellness Simple Small Breed Salmon and Potato right now. I’m actually not sure what the fat is on that, but I know the protein is low.

I’m in the home stretch of finals week, so once it’s over, I’ll actually have time to do things. Getting her to the vet is at the top of my list. I was up until 6 in the morning the other night doing homework and studying for exams. Work then proceeded to schedule me 12:30 to 10 that day. 8 hours of homework, 5 hours of sleep, and 9 and a half hours of cashiering makes for a terrible two days @.@ One final left and I have my Tuesday’s and Thursdays to myself again!

She’s been good until it’s started getting cold off and on and having no idea what it wants to do. The cold makes her spunky, she runs around like a lunatic on the tile floor, and the activity makes her sore.

I’ve emailed the rep. Just waiting to hear back from her. If I can use another vets script, I can get a 6 lb bag for $10.22, plus whatever shipping is. I think I’d do two bags at a time, since orders can only be placed once a month.

let me know how your guys like raw! I gave Kitty the tail off Bentleys turkey last week, and he loved it. Wasn’t quite sure what to do with it at first, because he’s used to just licking his food up, but once he remembered what his teeth were for, he went to town on that thing lol I think I’m going to suck up the price and buy him some ground chicken for the Wild Kitty sample. It’s like $5 for a pound though! I might just be cheap and get ground pork. He likes country ribs lol

So I got two of the new Saucations on Black Friday for $0.39 cents or whatever they were a can at PetSmart because I had a bogo coupon. I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Why do people think this ok???? Of course, the little turd likes it. But he eats from the garbage can, too, so I’m not sure how much that says LOL

Just saw this on Susie’s Senior Dogs. This is NOT about accidentally pregnancy, but is about overpopulation from breeding: https://www.facebook.com/susiesseniordogs/photos/a.272358689587441.1073741828.272349689588341/398607503629225/?type=1&theater

I was looking at before / after neutering photos of Sam earlier today and there is definitely a difference. I wish I had been able to leave him intact (or at least intact for a longer period of time), but couldn’t because of his undescended testicle.

That groomer took one look at Sam and knew; and I was like, “Ah ha!”

Akari’s your best bet on how to post pics through photo bucket. I’ve never been able to figure it out.

Coat is cute. Lily, of course, looks adorable in it. Has Lily worn coats before? If not, the best way to get her used to it is just put it on her and take her for a walk. She’ll forget she even has it on.

@Akari This has nothing to do with couponing, but could you tell me how to post a photo please? I have photobucket, but I don’t know how to imbed. I asked on the Unrelated to Dog Food topic, and Bobby Dog said to ask you. Thanks!

Edit2: I give up. Can someone please tell me how to post a photo? I have photobucket, but how do I imbed it?

Geeee 2 years old is young, I thought she may be getting old, poor girl, sometimes vets have where you can do a payment plan of pay off weekly, did you get Addie thru a rescue group cause normally if they come thru a rescue group they help out if they have health problems after being adopted, well they do in Australia & a photo of the dog gets put on their site & they ask for donations to help pay for her treatment, If I had the money i’d pay for CT scan to see what is happening with her..there has to be someone that will help…Im not firmilar with rescue in America, but there has to be charities that help with vet bills..

So mom bought Ginger a new bed (just in time, too because we got home and she had pooped all over her bed and blanket to the point where I just threw it in the trash– no since in saving them, they were disgusting beyond repair) and she has not willingly moved from it since mom put it down. She’s only gotten up to get me to tell me she has to go outside (to poop AGAIN. Darn dog and her constant tummy troubles), and because I hooked a leash to her harness and took her for a walk (which she enjoyed). So she’s basically been glued to this bed for last hour a half, and there’s no sign of her getting out anytime soon :p I’ll not be putting this bed in her cage. Ain’t no way she’s going to destroy a $25 bed! She can have one of the cheapy, old beds for her cage lol

You can use Gravatar.com to create a profile pic. It’s pretty easy and straightforward. It might take a few minutes for your photo to show up though.

Hey guys! Ginger is loving this cooler weather we’ve been having. Every time we go out to go potty, she tries to bolt off down the driveway for a walk lol I bought Ginger a little jacket at Goodwill, and we tried it out tonight, but it was too small, so after out walk I gave to the neighbor for her dog, who is about Bentley’s size, and it fits her great. She gave Ginger a sweater style jacket that you have to slip on over the head, but I don’t think thats going to go over well with Ginger. She needs something that has velcro over chest and under the tummy so I don’t have to deal with getting her legs through any holes or slipping anything over her head. Even the first one, which was vest style with velcro down between the legs was a stretch and she wasn’t too happy getting it on, but she tolerated it to a point. Still nipped at me when I trying to get it on, but sort of accepted it. I’m gunna try it, but I don’t think she’ll go for it lol

Anyways, heres a couple random pics:

The brats in their jackets (Bentley’s is much cuter when its not all bunched up to get his harness to fit through the hole in the back lol)

I did find a shop near by-ish that has it, according to the website. Can’t wait to get it!

So heres a deal I’m hoping to try out soon. Naturella sent me a ton of $10 off $25 a purchase coupons for PetLand. PetCo should take these. I also have a $10 Natural Balance PetSupermarket coupon, which PetCo takes. Then I have two $3 off any size bag 4.5lbs or larger of Natural Balance Ultra manufacturer coupons (one from Naturella!). PetCo has the Small Bites formula for $29.99.

Should this work, I will have a 12.5 lb bag of Natural Balance Ultra for $9.09. Not bad! I would like to see if they’ll price match Pet Supermarket for me, since they have it for $28.99, which would make it $8.02, and me *very* happy. The sale price online for PetCo does say $26.99, but I’m not sure if thats in-store, too, since PetCo is freaking stupid and can’t just have the same sale price in-store and online. That would just be too easy.

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/D60C9619-BD1A-4BC1-B22F-D2808FAD9238_zps2be9yufo.jpg

    http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/Akari53/7D268BB6-EFA0-4965-945E-1CEF3EF6CF90_zpsnszbungi.jpg

I also scored a 4 lb bag of Wellness Simple Small Breed Salmon and Potato (didn’t even know that was a thing!!) and a 4 lb bag of Wellness CORE Puppy for $2.46 and $2.48 respectively at Pet Supermarket the other day! The Simple was on clearance for $11.97 (they say it was in the wrong spot, because it rang up at $17-something, but the tag on shelf was right– I don’t think it was in their system properly, but they gave it to me anyways), and the CORE was marked down 20% for an upcoming expiration date. Used a $5 off PetSmart coupon and $5 off Wellness Coupon for each of them. The CORE I’m using now, using it to spread out Haley and Dweezle’s other food (also Wellness, but its the Toy Breed kind lol), since the expiration date is in a few weeks. I’ve used it twice, and its half gone already, so no worries there! The Simple I’ll try out for Ginger, since its small kibbles. Yay!

    *edit*

So I just looked through PetCo’s flier and the Natural Balance IS on sale for $26.99. That means I could very well get it for $5.88 a bag!!!!!!! Holy geez! I know where I’ll be going in the morning!

Just letting you guys know that Ginger has had her cage for a couple weeks and is doing really great in it! She only had one accident in it, when she was having one her one-day bouts of diarrhea, and no one woke up in time when she was crying at night to take her out. She eats and sleeps in there, and will go between her cage and Bentleys cage during the day for naps. She likes both of the beds, so she goes between them lol

I also finally broke down and bought her a muzzle. I have to cut her nails, and I’m not going to lose a finger doing it. She just kind of shuts down and takes whatever you give her muzzled, which I think is a better state of mind than trying to kill the person that’s cutting your nails, soooo….. Lol I got her back nails before the muzzle, and now I just have to find a good time to try and get the front ones now that I have it. She also still needs a bath (yeah, she hasn’t gotten one yet…), which I’ll try with out the muzzle first.

Anyways, just to remind you guys (and myself *rolls eyes*) that she’s not all demon-dog, here’s a picture of her napping in another one of her strange positions :p

Susan, Mickey is a shelter rescue dog I adopted about a week ago. He’s a one year old mixed terrier and weighs in at 11 pounds.
I uploaded the photo after much frustration and searching and trial and error from Gravatar. If I can just figure out how to add a photo to a post that’s relevant I’ll be doing fine.
