MemberUpdate: the Back to Basics Pork wasnāt a big hit with Harry. He didnāt dive in with gusto as he usually does. And the āoutputā wasnāt great. I usually do a long food transition with him but stopped. I ordered a bag of the Earthborn Holistic Great Plains Feast & the results were much better. He liked it and so far it likes him š
So now if all goes well besides his raw we can rotate
NL Beef
NL Sardine
Earthborn Holistic GPF
See Spot Live Longer Pre MixFor some odd reason I have it in my head that a 3rd brand for kibble would be a better rotation. I then think I am a glutton for punishment & I should be grateful Iāve found anything that agrees with him.

MemberSandy- the Carnivore Raw w/out calcium can be used with the bone-in grinds from Hare? THAT would be a God send for me ā I mean Harry š

MemberJust completed my order! New stuff includes duck necks/feet, goat grind, and even the dressed quail pack. Got his faves too ā beef grind, rabbit grind, and of course his addiction ā Tripe. I ordered freezer containers for a good price off Amazon so Iāll be all set to stock the new freezer. š
Family coming over later so today will be turkey neck day- itās so much fun grossing out company MWAH HA HA š

She is vision & hearing impaired but just started High School and is getting straight Aās. Our boy Harry the Greyhound is her constant partner in crime & sheās his Wubbie.
And I still canāt relax for nothin. I truly suck at it. My yoga teacher tried to teach me meditation but gave up, as I kept
going thru my āto do listā in my head. But I had some great smelling concoctions !!

MemberItās a top loader w/a small shelf 1/2 way up $ a sliding basket up top. I will have to figure out a system. Heās so limited on what he can eat that it shouldnāt be too hard ā itās just my OCD lol. The minute I try to move the pkgs I have out to the freezer Harryās starts going crazy thinking itās dinner time.
Patty: I mixed a lot of oil brews when I was dealing with infertility & a very high risk pregnancy. I wasnāt born with a relaxation chromosome so I needed ALOT of help šOctober 19, 2013 at 11:25 am in reply to: Hare Today Gone Tomorrow #26652 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityFreeholdHound

Cyndi: itās a small freezer but w/ only 1 dog on partial raw itās enough for me & for $45 (originally $160) I couldnāt walk away! My Hare Today is going to be painful heehee

MemberMy mini freezer is up and running- YAY! Iāve delayed another order until I was sure it worked. I can get the raw out of MY freezer now! And better yet start an order. It feels like Xmas (and thatās absolutely pathetic LOL). Forget sugar plums ā Iāve got visions of goat, tripe, and duck feet & necks dancing thru my head š

MemberNewbie here too. I have been using the grind mixes w/ bone to add to dry food and on their own occasionally. I use the boneless ground meat w/ the See Spot Live Longer miix & when Harry gets a large turkey neck. Besides that Tripe is our go to favorite thing from MPC & Hare Today. I just got a new small freezer & thereās quite a big order in my shopping cart as we speak. Going to try the goat & rabbit grinds as Harry canāt have poultry (except bones)

Plains. I think Iāll try a small bag of each. B2B 1st as I can get free shipping at the moment.October 12, 2013 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Rmb's and recreational bones #26223 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityFreeholdHound

MemberYes, heās quite the sightā¦looks like heās posing for a Playgirl centerfold. I keep threatening to buy him a kilt (Irish bloodlines) as his blatant airing out of his ājunkā gets a bit old. Add in the obnoxious snoring & dream rabbit chasing & he looks possessed. But heās always good for a laugh.
Will check out the goat & mutton also. Attended a few Goat Roasts in Texas ā I donāt remember if I liked it or not, but Harryās not too picky w/ raw.

MemberPatty- When Harry ācockroachesā heās the length of our couch.lol.
Has anyone tried the goat from Hare Today? Iām making up a wish list/pre order. Always looking to add something besides beef & tripe since poultry is out. He did well on the pork & liked the rabbit grind too. Want to try out the duck feet (so cute) also, my Asian Mkt didnāt have them.

MemberI got my baby freezer today. But with clearance, gift card & employee discount it only came to $45! Hopefully Iāll get it plugged in this weekend & can get the raw food out of our freezer. Then I can figure out my next order š
FreeholdHound
MemberWell that makes sense. Duh! I will give him a chunk to chew on next time. Over the weekend we were visiting friends & hanging out on the patio. I gave him a dried trachea to keep him busy & he walked over to the door. He thought he should be let inside to lay on their dogs bed to eat it. Harryās never been cat tested so that wasnāt happening, and boy was he pissy. Kept giving my friend the āStink Eyeā for making him lay outside (on a travel bed). Sooo beneath him LOL.

MemberI got a few containers of MPCās tripe/gullet/trachea grind to try out. Hopefully the small freezer Iāve had my eye on at Target on clearance will go down again this week & Iāll pick it up. Then Iāll have to plan on some more goodies. Llama? Wow, Iām just happy he likes the beef & rabbit so far lol.
I also ordered MPC dried beef trachea chews to give him a break from the turkey necks & something I can give him when weāre out and about ā he loves them & they lasted longer than I thought they would. Will be looking at duck feet soon too at my Asian Mkt.

MemberPatty- I will be searching out pork necks. Havenāt seen them at any of my local markets so Iāll check at my Asian Mkt when I go next. Harry is happily crunching on a dried beef trachea from MPC- his eyes actually rolled back into his head ā I guess he likes it! Iāve given them raw but not dried before.

MemberHarry just got finished w/ his turkey neck. I am tempted to try for more than once a week as he teeth are a concern, but turkey is so iffy for him.
FreeholdHound
MemberOh yes.. and the days Iām dividing up the raw tripe into smaller portions ā Harry has fits outside the kitchen gate. Of course I have to give him some to shut him up. I guess he never read that Greyhounds donāt bark LOL.
September 21, 2013 at 11:06 am in reply to: I have a question about Red Barn Naturals bones #24941 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityFreeholdHound
MemberHarry canāt have turkey, but does okay with turkey necks (but I donāt go over board). Red Barn Naturals are all cooked bones so I donāt buy them & some of their other products are smoked (w/all of Harryās triggers I wouldnāt try those either).
Many people use them with no problems, itās an individual dog thing.FreeholdHound
MemberI know Tripett and Merrick both have canned Tripe and are sold in most pet stores. I used the Merrick as a topper when I used to use canned food. Harry liked it but the raw is definitely Houndie Crack around here.

MemberLooks like Raw Pet Food Nation may turn out to be a bust (at least for me). I placed my order last weekend & never received any sort of email from them for confirmation. I emailed on Wed & got a reply that they were looking into it & nothing since. Sigh. I āll hold out thru the weekend & then go thru PayPal to dispute the transaction.

MemberI think I screwed up my question (apologies, bad week). Iām keeping the 1 1/2 cups of kibble in the AM, but will be mixing things around in the PM. When I use the See Spot Live Longer premix w/ the raw ground meat I eliminate the kibble if Iām reading things correctly ā itās the amount of ground meat Iām confused with.
