oh nice some recipes. guys im in need of advice here, as i have started feeding raw since i read on this. I have 2 roughly 15lb or 6.5kg westies and i need some menus for them as i have limited supplies here and on a budget. the ingredients i have here and are very common to us are chicken, pork and fish. which part of the chicken should i feed and on the fish that would give them a good diet and also how do i mix this up for the next 7 days.

wow very heated discussion here, and creepy on the end. dog food literally? dog? seriously?!? I have nothing against people who feed their dogs with only vegies. If it made them healthy good for you. But the fact of the matter is dogs love meat. If your forcing your dog to eat vegies because its for their health and not their happiness then thats downright sad πŸ™

i know how you feel pugsmomandy, there’s this one time back in college where cash isn’t an easy access, some of my friends would share some of their doggy treats to feed my dog and me eating a canned tuna which is way cheaper than the treats that they are receiving from donor friends LOL.

yes patty that counts πŸ™‚ before i always cook extra just like as a family in a house of mom dad and for the babies ( i mean dogs)

okay melissaandcrew, luckily i stumbled upon this while was browsing the net, i only listened to my vet but unfortunately his 2 hours from me so i’m educating myself on what not to feed my dogs πŸ™‚

oh thanks a lot pugsmomandy, much appreciated. I see coconut oil on your list as alternatives that we have around. question though you mentioned tuna, is it alright to feed them with canned tuna flakes thats rich with fish oil but was made for human consumption. I plan on mixing them with some rice. so more like rice tuna flakes πŸ™‚ I’m guilty at times of feeding them table scraps.

wow i have never seen a dog with so many list of allergies to food, the poor pup πŸ™ maybe something else is causing the problem? have you asked for a 2nd opinion from another vet? how is she now? i hope you find the best ingredient for her

hi frogdogz, are those the only ingredients available? if that is the case then fried beef with peas is one of the recipe. since you mentioned they don’t have a fridge then that should be okay since it would take a couple of days before the fried meat would go bad or roasted meat πŸ™‚

good to hear that they have found out whats causing the problem…. hopefully they will recover soon. About the apple cider vinegar, i’ve been reading all about it online and it seems a good alternative supplements. any brands that you would recommend? I think i read some saying that the best one’s must be fermented and unfiltered. I Don’t think mine loves pumpkin too πŸ™‚ they would just sniff on it and walkaway.

Thanks Patty Cyndi for the quick reply… I just had to ask the question πŸ™‚ My nephew always comes to our house during the weekends and really loves chocolate (shes 4 yrs old btw), usually she has one with her given by her parents as her snack πŸ™‚ I myself am not fond with sweets since I’m diabetic. I haven’t notice my dogs are eating them secretly though or my nephew is feeding them. I just got worried as I read the articles about it. BTW i just saw an article about a thousand pets just recently died due to eating a chinese made dog food πŸ™ so sad….. I have nothing against chinese products but its just sad….

I see, im planning to change their diet from regular dog food and cooked meals to raw… would there be a problems that i would encounter from changing their diets all of a sudden? or should i slowly make them adapt to it? like mixing raw food to their regular meals or should i just go with the raw immediately?

guys i have a question, im new to raw feeding… do you serve the bones as a whole especially with chicken wings, I’m kinda hesitant to give them the whole wing afraid they might choke or something due to those pointy bones.

heya BRT, I hope your dog will get well soon… is he still on the on the same food diet as before? what changes have you made since then? I’m trying to understand these things so to avoid having to encounter this problem in the future.
