MemberGood and bad news. My dog didnt eat her primal duck recipe after it had thawed for 6 hours. She did though eat the primal after it had only thawed for two hours in the fridge. I know it is not safe to feed still frozen recipe. Would it be ok if i let it thawed for a couple hours and then giving it to her because she likes the crunchiness. Thanks ia advance everyone.

MemberThanks for the answers. I was planning on mixing the duck and turkey and sardine recipes with the wellness core large breed. I have to ask, is that okay? And is the large breed ok for a 50-55 pound dog?

MemberOK, thanks! I thought they were the same, but I was just wondering. I think next time iām going with pronto turkey and sardine, and rotating it with duck. Thanks for all the help.

MemberShould i go with pronto or go with the frozen raw nuggets? From my understanding they are practically the same. What do you guys think?

MemberI ordered from only natural pet. The shipping is pricey 8dollars and i should of mentioned that. The shipping is also slow. It is worth it to me though.

MemberWell, i decided to switch off with duck recipe. I ordered 3 lbs or frozen online for just 20 dollars, where as the freeze dried was the same price for 14 ounces.

MemberIm thinking about going with duck, but i have a question, what is the difference between the freeze dried and the frozen raw. The frozen raw is so much cheaper. Just wondering. Oh, btw, the ingredients are nearly identical.

MemberHi Crazy4cats-
I am not a member, but wellness only has one gf line, core, and the protein is a little high, and slightly pricey. I really wish i could use merrick, but the situation going on is to much. MemberI donāt know much about the dog foods in Australia, but a general rule of thumb, stay away from iams, Purina, and beneful.
Zach M
MemberI have the book, but didnāt know that sardines have a lot of fish oil. I guess it was right there in front of my face lol.

MemberWow guys, you leave for 2 hours and come back to an abundance of answers. Thanks! And a question, do tinned sardines give a proper amount of fish oil? I like the idea of āSardine Sundayā, C4C! It could become a new tradition out our house too!

MemberHDM, yesterday The Honest Kitchen launched some new lines. 2 more base mixes, and Hacylon, or something like that.
Zach M
MemberThanks Betsy! I looked it up, and will probably try it out. I just have to find out the size.
Zach M
MemberI would like to have that be the case. My dog is a TERRIBLE dog walker. I am currently on day 9 of dog training I have followed steps, but my dog is strong and really thinks she is the leader. I will try and find someone. Thanks for the help!
Zach M
MemberHi Betsy, I just saw your post. The kennel she goes to has 6 enclosed play pens inside where they have a couple dogs each based on size and social ability. They also have outdoor play time. They say that this year was her best year because she actually did a little bit of playing with other dogs. I just hope that she gets better.
Zach M
MemberI gave her a nice long hug from you! The kennel she stays at does have 10-20 dogs. The people there remember her as the ādog who stays in the cornerā. We were thinking of payong for a private play time which is 15 minutes a day of private play. We have looked 8 kennels in real life and this one was the best. I would have someone dog sit, she is afraid of our only neighbor who could do it. Well, she isnāt afraid she doesnāt respond to her and stays in her kennel. We are going on another vacation in two weeks. We will look at other places. Thanks!
Zach M
MemberI was thinking about THK, but was also deciding between merrick and core. I am a fan of wellness core, as I have used some of there Canned food and treats in the past. C4C, I was talking about real food toppers that I pit on arnt over 20%. When I feed canned I give her a meal of it. Tell me about it. If my dog could talk life would be so much better! Merrick Iāve heard has had quality issues, but it seems like the ingredients and protein is right for my dog. I might make the switch to Wellness core, but Iām not sure if they use ingredients from the usa and if they use no gmos, which are important to me for certain reasons. Thanks for all the help. I will continue to pursue my goal of getting my dog to eat her food!
Zach M
MemberSue, I will try that crushing idea. Unfortunately, canned food is to expensive for everyday food, but for times lime this she eats canned food. I will crush it on her canned food, and since there isnāt much left, I will order some new kibble. I was thinking about Merrick GF. ABC day is Saturday, so I might move it to tomorrow. Thank you for all the suggestions!
Zach M
MemberI put the canned food on her regular food, and I put water on some regular food. She turned her nose on them. She just ate the canned food part and spit ilthe kibble out. The warm water batch she didnāt even touch. Do you think it would make a difference to put them together? She just now ate her breakfast that I reset out at 600.
July 3, 2014 at 6:48 pm in reply to: Stomach Issues with Boxer #46015 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityZach M
MemberYou might want to try switching food. SD is not a high quality food. Try finding a cheaper grain free food. Earthborn Primitive Natural is one that HDM recommended. I understand you are on a budget, but i think it might be the food.

I definitely dont have a 150 lb. Great Dane but my dog eats like one! Anyway, I was just wondering costs, and your reply helped. Thanks!

MemberOoohhhh I need that Cyndi!!! I didnāt know they made trays like that.
Zach M
MemberAlso, Shasta, how do your homemade āgreeniesā work with bad breath? I really some of those if they help with gas and bad breath.
Zach M
MemberHas anyone figured out how to hold blended up fruits/veggies and other items together? When I make treats i want to make them into cm by cm cubes, but when i freeze them in an ice tray they are really big, so i want to find out how to freeze them smaller. So i will put them on a tray and freeze them into cubes, but does anyone know how to give them some consistency to stand up when i put them on the tray?
