I just recently had my lab puppy micro-chipped. I did this while he was getting neutered. My vet recommended petlink.net and that is who I went with. I pay a one time fee and that is it. It is your responsibility to update your profile should you ever move or change your phone number. The website was very easy to use. Hope this helps as well.

I also have a yellow lab puppy that hubby and I rescued couple months ago….talk about major diarrhea!! Keep in mind that he had Parvo and survived. Found out that the puppy food I was feeding him at the time contained, potatoes, sweet potatoes, barley, rye flour so that being said….I switched to Earthborn and I also give him pumpkin as well. I also give him nzymes antioxidant treats as well and his stool is almost back to normal. It will take couple more weeks since I just switched last week! He is much happier puppy! Tina…I had to chuckled at your comment about spending too much time looking at stool…..I did the same thing!!

That is interesting!!! Actually one of my dog did much better with grain free food and no longer have issues with gas and anal gland (Thank God!). If it helps, I feed my dogs Earthborn Holistic and have been very very pleased with the results. My other lab has digestive issues and is thriving well on Earthborn as well.
Hopefully someone else can give you better insight than me. I know Hound Dog Mom would be a good person talk to….she is very informative! She is always on this forum so look her up! Good luck with your dog!

    Hi-
I think you are dead on right with low protein diet can be harmful! From what I read from other readers that have dogs with kidney issues…..they all pretty said the same thing…it has nothing to do with protein…you just need to watch the phosphorus intake!
From what I am reading….I think I would get rid of Hills Prescription k/d dog food. It is NOT a good dog food. Feed your dog grain free/high protein good quality dog food.
Do some research on dog food first and go from there!
Hope this helps!!! If I find more information…I will let you know!!!
