Have not been able to get the Zignature turkey since about last December. They keep telling me it was because it became so popular they got caught off guard and could not keep up the demand but would soon (that was months ago) this came just after we started seeing discoloration of the turkey pate when opening the can. we told them but all’s they did was send a free case. we have switched to Fromm’s turkey and pumpkin but our girl does not seem to be doing as good as she used to on the Zignature. Has anyone heard what the heck has been going on? our girls has sooo many allergies (can’t eat anything with chunks, and no lamb, no beef, no fish, no milk and no potatoes. So trying to find her a food is so difficult. thanks for anything you might know on all this.

Need a pate food without potato… (our girl is allergic to beef, fish, lamb, corn and potato. We were giving her Zignature but their turkey has been backordered for MONTHS> so frustrated and running out of time. most others all have potato or potato starch. any suggestions greatly appreciated. again that is for wet/canned.

CHecking the all out. I love the Lotus Venison and Asparagus and a few others but see they use chicken fat … so not sure if the allergy of chicken will show up. A few others look great but even though chicken isn’t in the name it is still in the ingredients list. But there are a few that are without the chicken so going through them one at a time. Love the idea of all 3 of these !!checking them all out. thank you so much

Hi Sharon… we have a 14 year old moxie who was having the same problems …. and a lot more. We had our regular vet do an allergy blood test and that did show what she is allergic to food wise. Found out we have been feeding her food she was horribly allergic to and have since changed. But, we still have to give our gal 1/2 a benedryl during certain times of the year when she starts sneezing and reverse sneezing. This helps. The problem with possible food allergies is huge though. Many homemade dog foods have rice or corn and in our pups case she was extremely extremely allergic to both those things. Because of this the vet tried 3 different dog foods (one was this dyrolized dog food and it almost killed her ..literally). So for right now, she is actually on a dog food with rice AND corn and doing fine. We were told that sometimes even with allergies a dog can handle certain foods. So it is very confusing. In our case though we wound up going to a holistic veterinarian. Because our doxie has a history of pancreatitis many of the things she is NOT allergic to (test showed she is not allergic to pork) she can’t have because of the fat content. But she is getting a holistic concoction that has been keeping her pancreas soothed and working well now and she is oddly on a food she should be allergic to but is not. If she can’t handle this dog food she is on now our holistic vet has some other recommendations we will try but for now she is doing fantastic. We believe this is because of this holistic vet (she is a “real” vet who has been to school for other things and believes in more than the standard veterinarian ways. She actually saved her life after the hydrolized dog food almost killed her (from the other vet).. So perhaps getting with your vet about 1/2 a benedryl? then a allergy test? Great luck though… our doxies are special !!!

Thanks Kristin C. I am contacting Zignature to try and find the dry matter content for their canned whitefish or turkey. Can’t determine that unless they post the moisture content and they don’t but I have e mailed them to get that information from them. We have thought about giving her pancreas enzymes and considering that now. We really thank you for your help and information!!!!!

Oh yes it appears it will have to be a canned good or homemade food. The kibble even if soaked did not to well for her. thanks

Hi thanks for the information! The one she could use comes out to be about 14% dry matter content for the fat still a bit too high. Checked the veterinarian ones and it showed they were 35% for the fat content. The Nutrisca is also 14% fat. So no go unfortunately. But thank you so much for your help!!
