ParticipantMy dog has a chicken allergy but is fine with turkey. Actually heās really good on turkey.

ParticipantI have a 20 month old JRT who gives new meaning to the term terror. He is on Chinese herbs right now called calmer and they have helped some. A few days ago we started feeding via the food energetics charts and I think we are seeing a small difference but itās really too soon to tell. There are a number of different charts out there so be careful which ones you use. My holistic vet told me to use the one that comes from the Chi Institute. Since she also had a crazy JRT that she helped to control through food Iām going with what she says.

ParticipantAnn I have one here who canāt handle peas in the first 10. From my research Iāve come up with the Petcurean Go of either the Daily Defense or Sensitivity and Shine lines. I donāt think they had turkey either. Fromm also had a few options that were pea and turkey free. Wellness had two I think.

ParticipantWe used to feed Acana but had to stop when they started adding so many peas, lentils, etc. That seems to be the new trend here to keep the protein high.

ParticipantOntario. We have 2 horses, 2 cats, a 10 1/2 year old adopted JRT, an 18 month old very high strung JRT and now a 9 month old lab pup. We used to have Siberian Huskies and added in our first JRT. She was a sweet heart and apparently give us the JRT bug.

ParticipantIf you go to the review section on this site there is a list of canned foods from 5 stars right on down. Most of them I have never found here, but you do have a few options. My local Pet Valu carries the Blue Buffalo, Merrick, Natureās Variety and Wellness. Fromm I think I have seen at our local pet store.

ParticipantOrijen and Acana are both Canadian made and so is Go. I honestly donāt know if either company makes canned food as Iāve never looked and their website is not opening for me right now, but I am assuming they do. Compliments probably is not a high quality food.

ParticipantHere in Ontario we canāt get most of the foods Sandy listed. Acana, Go Fit and Free, Hi Tek grain free are also foods that are higher in protein and fat and lower in carbs. You might be able to find Epigen but youāll really have to search for it. Is the Compliments youāre talking about the Loblaws/IGA/L&M brand?
