We do take him on walks and play fetch with him everyday. So what work would you suggest?

My family and I would never give this dog up. All I was wondering was if getting a calmer dog breed would help him…Not Replace him with a “cute little puppy”. I just wanted some ideas for the best way to handle his situation. We don’t want to just put our dog on drugs to calm him down, we would rather have him be trained properly. I am currently researching trainers in our area.

Unfortunately our dog is scarred from the vet because he almost died twice. The first time, when he was a pup, he somehow found some fertilizer in our backyard and the second time (a year ago) the vet and us could not figure out what he had ingested. For his check up the vet had us give him two different anti-anxity meds and they didn’t help at all.

Abe is doing alot better, he’s less lathagic and is playing some. He was dieagnosed with enteritis and colitis but has medication for it. We think he just ate something toxic but don’t exactly know what it was.

His vet is with Banfield, we have been going to ever since we got him. The only other times we have had to take him to the this vet was for check ups and when he hurt his lag and ate some fertilizer last summer. I will look at some GSH for foums. He usually eats “Nura-source Large breed adult food” and has never had any problems with it. Unfortunately we bought him off of Craigslist and the seller didn’t give us any info of his parents.(We aren’t even 100% sure he’s a pure breed). His vet did check for pancreatis. We didn’t put him on antibiotics because they woulld cause even more tummy aches but he will probably be going on them or something like that. We are going to call the vet tomorrow and also will ask about lupus.

    Hi,
My 6 month old German Shepard is 43lb, that’s 15 pounds under weight! We have been feeding him 1/2 cup of NurtiSource large breed puppy food three times a day, now we are going to feed him 3/4 cup of food three times a day. Is there anything else I can do to have him gain more weight?

How is Blue Buffalo wilderness? I’ve heard vary good stuff about it but also bad stuff. In the review on this website it said ” the concentrated version of this ingredient commonly known as caramel coloring has been more recently considered controversial and found to cause cancer in laboratory animals.”And there’s a lawsuit saying that blue buffalo has been lieing, it says they put by-products and corn in there food.

    H!
I have a 4 month old German Shepard, I’m trying to find a good large breed puppy food for him. I’m feeding him Whole earth farms puppy food but its not for large breed. I’ve done a lot of research. And don’t know what would be the best for him .
