MemberI had no problems with Evangers food my dogs all did well on it but I did have no wonder about their ethics and if they are unethical in business are they unethical with their ingredients. Waiting for Whole Dog Journal February edition as it will be rating dry dog food. they want lab reports to confirm the ingredients no more sending in an ingredient list. Keeping everyone honest.

MemberThank you SummerRainAussi,
I really appreciate your input. I have looked at Victor many times but do not like the Alfalfa ingredient. I have also tried Annamaet Lean as I have older little couch potatoes, having lived a life in a puppy mill they just want to be by me or on the sofa. The Annamaet Lean caused a hot spot on my 15 year old but perhaps one of their other foods could be an option. Do you have any knowledge on them?January 5, 2017 at 8:26 am in reply to: Nominate a Brand for Editor's Choice #93092 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityCatherine G
MemberI do rescue , I have 8 small dogs mostly puppy mill survivors, 4 lbs to 10 lbs. They always have toppings of cottage cheese, pumpkin, yogurt and fresh pet. I try to stay away from white potato, alfalfa, tapioca and pea protein. I am currently feeding Evangers Whitefish, I have tried the Eagle Pack but it is not grain free, they seem to like the fish recipes. Does anyone have any other suggestions? The kibble has to be small.

MemberI would like to know why some products with undesirable ingredients (in red) such as alfalfa are still considered 5 star/ Why foods that have too many carbohydrates are still 5 star? Many big name products seem to have both but remain 5 star, does not equate, makes no sense.

MemberI would like to see the ingredient lists updated. I have to go to product website to see if your list is accurate. In the case of Hi Tek Naturals it is not they have added pea starch as their third ingredient.

MemberI like what I see on their ingredient list. I have small puppy mill survivors, all under 10 lbs most with few teeth, I need a kibble that is not too big. Can you tell me the size of the kibble please.

MemberI did use Blue Buffalo for some time, I have several small puppy mill survivors. I read that potatoes are of no use to a dogs diet and to look for foods that did not have potatoes, tapioca, beets or pea fiber, too many carbs, a dog does not need carbs.

MemberYes Dog Pack Mom, I have several puppy mill survivors and would like to know the reason for removing a particular food. Is it predicated on sales, not quality?

MemberI know the thing today is “grain free” . Is it the millet that makes it not grain free? I spoke to the specialty dog food store and they referred to it as grain free. I have 7 puppy mill survivors and I thought the Maltese eyes looked better, no runnyness.
