MemberThanks so much everyone for the replies! Itās not so easy for me to just ānot discuss nutritionā with my vetā¦maybe itās something I need to learn š I just have so little patience and tolerance for someone trying to preach to me how raw is not good (and give really ridiculous arguments as to why itās not).
We have a more holistic-type of vet near us who also does vaccinations and minor surgeriesā¦full-service care. But they are so much more expensive than a traditional vet. The price for the initial puppy visit (not including vax) with the traditional vet was $60. At the holistic vet, the initial consult is $200!!!
Anyway, I will try the kelp or spirulina (maybe at Whole Foods or a nurtrition store?) and see if that helps with the grass. We donāt use pesticides or fertilizers on our grass so it doesnāt really bother me that he eats it, I just donāt want it to cause him to throw up.
Thanks again for all the help!
January 18, 2014 at 3:47 am in reply to: Transition question ā goat's milk #32375 Report Abuse Edit Post Visibilityraylene5
MemberThanks Patty. Iāve heard conflicting things about it. On the one hand, Iāve heard that puppies are very resilient so they should adjust to a new food very easily. And that the goatās milk is great for transitioning because it helps strengthen their stomachs and protect it from bacteria. But then Iāve also heard that itās better to gradually introduce the new food so as not to make too many changes in their lives too quickly.
I guess that for me, I was hoping to keep kibble out of the house. Iām not one to say kibble is the devil or anything like that š Itās just that I really want to make raw succeed and sort of like with breast-feeding, you might not even want to have formula in the house so as not to rely on it in case of difficulty. Does that make sense?
Thanks for your help! š
