ParticipantHi Mike ,
PetFlow does not sell Brothers so they must be ticked off at all the volume on the Brothers thread and sales created by all the satisfied customers that purchase this great product.Must be a reason people go to the Brothers threadā¦Because itās the best kibble hands down. The drama I admit was fun but the info from the likes of Richard,Shawna and Toxi was priceless. To bad they are all gone.Melissa please stay out of this comment to Mike S as you were one of the people that undermined this site and Brothers because you and your friends had a agenda.Congrats to you.No Mike I donāt know why you made your decission as you suggest I do.My grandpa always told me to follow the money and he was a very smart man.Mike P
ParticipantMelissa I find you disturbingā¦

The thing that makes your blog the best dog food site in the world is the open discussion and yes the drama. You can not find that anywhere on the web.Did DFA help me find a better way to take care of Jubilee with proper nutrition?YES it did.It also raised my awareness about vaccines, suplements, health problems, detox, and so many other topics.Find that info on doggie scoops or the other out dated dog food sites. They have reviews from 2007!Look Mike I am so greatfull for your blog and what it means to me and Jubilee but to tone down the cutting edge of this site IMO is a big mistake.DFA is about food I get it ,but it also provides so much more. The forums are a great addition and we should use them for our discussions about off topic subjects. To totally shut down Brothers is not fair.Any CEO or dog food company owners are welcome here but they choose not to take part.Richard did take part and was open and he getās screwed. We went to Brothers because we could share info and Richard did not mind what topic we discussed.DFA has a real life human feel that you canāt find anywhere else.Sorry Mike but you just lost the cutting edge that made this great.Does Petflow have anything to do with your descission??Mike P
ParticipantWhat???New people read the review and ask a question.Wait for a answerā¦simple

ParticipantI feed Brothers so the thread is important to meā¦

ParticipantIām sorry but because you could not control your dog does not mean your dog deserved to die. There were other alternatives like adoption to a home with no children and to a owner that would take the challenge of reforming the dogs behavior.Things not going good so put the dog down??Your choice so live with itā¦Sorry but I respect life

ParticipantI donāt know how much more you can do when your dog is old.My last Boxer was 12 and I had to help her up stairs, lift her in to the car,and lift her in to our bed for snuggles. She slept a real lot but we charished every day with her.One thing I found was she enjoyed the massage wand we had.We would put her on the bed and massage her shoulders, hind legs, back and she loved it.It seemed to give her short term relief and comfort. My current Boxer (5 yrs old)also loves the wand. She gets a massage about 3 times a week.Indian Turmeric (Mercola.com) is a anti-inflamitory and helps me with my fingers.I give my dog a capsule a day.Might be worth a try.

ParticipantHi HDM
So if you āboostā a high quality kibble such as Brothers Complete with maybe fresh meat and eggs, sardines and what not, would that change the playing field? If I kinda try to understand this awful disease more animal protein is a good thing??Mike P
ParticipantHi James,
I was reading the EVO review and the DMB has the carbs listed at 21% and fat at 24% with potato being the 5th ingredient.Potato offers very little nutritional value according to the review.I thought you made a post that you were very interested in purchasing Brothers Complete that is potato free.I donāt know if potato is all that great for feeding a dog with diabetes, but as a person with limited knowledge about the disease I will defer to one of the DFA experts to comment further. My question is what role do potatoās play in a diabetic dogs diet?I agree that fresh non processed food is a clear cut better choice for any dog .Mike P
ParticipantThank You Toxi for this post.Very helpful and now I understand more about this ingredient.
Mike P
ParticipantToxi great post as usual.I have to read it several times to digest it more as I donāt retain things well. You are such a hard worker and I appreciate your every wordā¦

After recieving much info on the vac subject from Toxed and Shawna here on DFA I choose not to vaccinate for dis/parv ever again. Looking over my Boxers record we discovered she had 2 dis/parv vacs 6 months apart. One the day we rescued her 2 years ago and one our vet gave her 6 months later after a routine vet visit.I brought that to his attention and he said no worries!! I have been working very hard to maintain and boost her immune system with a few supps and good nutrition.I asked my own Dr about dog vacs and he reassured me that they are not needed after the first set of boosters at one year of age.He said a healthy immune system has memory and will attack if they are exposed to any danger much like us from our baby shots.Good enough for me.I like you had some apprehension about this subject because I was used to the norm of yearlyās. Thatās just how it used to be done but not anymore.Look up Dr Schultz and Dr Jean Dodds work and also the AAHA recommendations for vaccinations.Good stuffā¦December 23, 2012 at 10:37 pm in reply to: Large and Giant Breed Puppy Nutrition #11204 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityMike P
ParticipantHi Jagger
I like Merricks 96% grain free canned,Fromm, wellness 95%,Tripett,BB Wilderness. They are all nice toppers. We use canned 3 times a week.We also use fresh meat as toppers.Ground chicken/turkey,gizzards,beef,sardines,venison,eggs,yogurt . Brothers Complete is the kibble we use with a bag of fromms grain free once in awhileā¦December 22, 2012 at 7:20 pm in reply to: What canned food do you use? #11184 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityMike P
ParticipantWhat ticked me off the most was the āoh wellā attitude on the phone.Like a take it or leave it tone. Not cool with me.I give and expect good customer service which seems to be lacking with them.I will probably use them again because I like the flat rate shipping thing.Grrrr

ParticipantSandy
We have used all the above with the exception being Weruva. With out a doubt though she loves Tripett the best. She gets excited when the can gets opened.I ordered a case of Tripett from doggiefood, com and waited 8 days with no delivery.Status showed shipped.I called UPS and they told me to call the shipper.I called and they said it was on back order.I cancelled and ordered from pet supplies.com They send me emails everyday but could not email me about a back order.Lame to say the leastMike P
ParticipantThanks Patty!!
