Wysong has what they call starch free. In the ingredients potato protein is listed. I researched potato protein and its a starch.

Skin scraping came back positive for yeast overgrowth. That’s why I have spent endless of hours researching the ingredients in both grain free and non grain free dog food. Since both carbs and starch are in both they suggested putting her on a raw food diet. By doing so she has improved a lot. Her fur and whiskers have grown back and no more non stop scratching. The smell from her ears and paws is gone

Your welcome. Remember starchy foods also feed yeast. Since putting my dog on a semi rae food. I cook the meat and use dog friendly fruit and veggies. I leave all starch and carbs out. By doing this she no longer as smelly itchy ears nor paws. Her fur and whiskers have grown back. She had even lost her fur on the inside of her back legs and on the bottom of her paws.

I use frozen broccoli, squash and frozen fruit that are dog safe. I also boil the eggs and use a potato smasher to mash up the eggs and shells both. I have to make dog food since one of heelers can not have carbs nor starch do to yeast overgrowth in her system.

As a heeler mom of 4 heelers we have one that did the same thing. Have a skin scraping done and have it tested for yeast. Most important. I can not feed her anything that has carbs or starch since they both feed yeast overgrowth. She had fur loss around her eyes, smelly ears and smelly paws. If grain free dog food didn’t help. I would highly suggest a yeast test be done. Also if it has brown rice in the grain free dog food brown rice is a grain along with corn and barely

Wow! You really have to take time and research the ingredients. Rice and brown rice is a starch but also a grain.Sweet potato is a starch just like potatoes, corn, peas, beans. I have a 2 year old red heeler that would lose her fur around her eyes. She would rub her muzzle on anything and everything she could find. Yeast smell in her ears and smelly paws. I spent $90.00 for an allergy shot from the vetthat did nothing. So called grain free nothing. Its yeast issues that she has. Sugar and starch feed yeast. So no more kibble for her. I now cook her food
