Often, house training goes out the window for a while once they start lifting their leg. If you want to keep a dog intact, you have to reinforce potty training lessons, crating, tethering, confining, etc. until you are sure they got the message. I have always been glad mine waited until they were older and I was ready to neuter anyway. Gideon is 1 yr and 1 month older than Micah and he started lifting his leg the same day Micah started when Micah was 8 months old. Gideon was neutered too young, so he only started lifting because the young upstart did.
