MemberHow much coconut oil are you adding. My girl loves to lick it off my fingers. I give my girl a meat broth every morning with a capful of ACV, and have started adding some coconut oil.

MemberWhen My rottweiler (mixed) joined us at 5 months, she had some issues. I give her broth with a teaspoon of applecider vinegar every morning and cottage cheese or greek yogurt with a probiotic every afternoon. We feed her orijen, taste of the wild victors, arcana it varies. one cup AM and 1/2 cup 2:00 and one cup PM She is doing well so far and not had any more blood in the urine. They Rx antibiotics several times and I knew that wasnāt the answer.

MemberMy pet store recommended Victor as they had researched it. They discontinued Merrick as it had been bought out by purina I believe and replaced it with Victor. So I am using that now with no adverse effects. I am mixing it with Vitapure. Also have used Orijen and taste of the Wild combo.

MemberThank you Joseph for your contributions. I do think sugars/carbs cause candidiasis in people.

MemberNaturella: I went to the small family owned pet place this week to ask for Merrick because of itās high ratings. The owner said they donāt carry Merrick since Purina bought them out.
She recommended Victor pet food because it is family owned and has always only made dog and cat food. I am sure there were other reasons also.August 24, 2016 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Science diet prescription joint care #89378 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityLinda H
MemberDoes you vet get a kick back on this dog food? I think they do. I think you can do better and I would not feed it to my dog.

MemberIn my opinion if you have found that your dog doesnāt do well with chickenāthen donāt feed it chicken. Do your homework and feed him what you think he should have. Susan is right about the vets and nutrition. At least some vets. Royal Canin s/o was sent home with us for our dogs urinary problem and after my husband researched it and said as many dogs died on it as those that were helpedāhe took it back. He paid the $200 and we werenāt told what kind of crystals were found in the urine, but since it is mostly rottweiler I expect it was struvite. Simplicef tablets 200 mg was dispensed. Seems like she is on antibiotics all the time. My husband goes with Rx and I prefer remedies.

Also she likes a dab of cottage cheese for treat and also apple and cooked or raw carrots.May 12, 2016 at 12:01 pm in reply to: Nominate a Brand for Editor's Choice #86160 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityLinda H
MemberBlue Buffalo admitted the truth in court yesterday: A āsubstantialā and āmaterialā portion of Blue Buffalo pet food sold over the past several years contained poultry by-product meal, despite pervasive advertising claims to the contrary. Blue Buffalo asked the Court for additional time to file an Amended Complaint in the litigation, naming its ingredient suppliers as Defendants.
The admission came almost one year to the day when Purina filed a lawsuit against Blue Buffalo for false advertising after testing revealed the presence of poultry by-product meal in some of Blue Buffaloās top selling pet foods.Blue Buffalo Admits to Bull****ing Pet Parents; Lawsuit with Nestle-Purina Heats Up
Gail having heard something negative lately I thought I would google and see what the latest on Blue Buffalo and came across this info. If I recall correctly they were also part of the melamine deaths of dogs sue to ingredients from China.April 2, 2016 at 10:21 am in reply to: Nominate a Brand for Editor's Choice #84615 Report Abuse Edit Post VisibilityLinda H
MemberI agree. My dog really likes it. I try to get two different brands and use half of one brand and then use a different brand. A the moment I have vita pure. The cost of Taste of the Wild is easier on the budget.
