My 4 1/2 yr old Chihuahua is allergic to just about everything. He is allergic to potatoes, soybean, alfalfa, oats, green peas, fish mix, pork, salmon, duck, and peanut. Suggestions please. He weighs 5 pounds and is an indoor dog.
anonymousMemberAllergic or food sensitivities? Food allergies are rare. Best to work with a veterinarian, he may need a prescription food till you get an accurate diagnosis as to what he can tolerate.
Then you should rule out environmental allergies if his symptoms continue. Talk to your vet.pugmomsandyParticipantYou might consider make his food. BalanceIt.com can help with that.
Patricia AParticipantMarlene N you might want to try freeze dried. I use Primal and Stella’s for my Chihuahua. They contain NO potatoes, Peas, oats etc. You can buy chicken, beef, venison blend etc . A lot of different proteins available and would not cost much to feed a Chihuahua. Easy to feed. Just hydrate with warm water. My chihuahuas have no issues with these brands.
