ParticipantWhat is the point of glycerin in a small soft dog treat? and is it dangerous?…like the China chicken fillets.

ParticipantIt helps to keep the treat soft. Depending on where the glycerin comes from might make a difference on its safety. For that you would need to ask the maker of the treat. There is an article on glycerin in the DFA library.

ParticipantI have the same concerns about glycerin in Rachael Ray’s Soup Bone and Savory Bites. I’ve written the company numerous times have never received a reply back regarding origin of their glycerin

ParticipantI don’t really know much about Rachel Ray’s food, other than the fact I’ve heard it’s not great, but I’d be suspect of any company that didn’t respond to multiple inquiries. Either they’re hiding something, or their customer service makes it so they aren’t worth your time and money.
