What is the point of glycerin in a small soft dog treat? and is it dangerous?…like the China chicken fillets.
pugmomsandyParticipantIt helps to keep the treat soft. Depending on where the glycerin comes from might make a difference on its safety. For that you would need to ask the maker of the treat. There is an article on glycerin in the DFA library.
3 dogsParticipantI have the same concerns about glycerin in Rachael Ray’s Soup Bone and Savory Bites. I’ve written the company numerous times have never received a reply back regarding origin of their glycerin
BryanV21ParticipantI don’t really know much about Rachel Ray’s food, other than the fact I’ve heard it’s not great, but I’d be suspect of any company that didn’t respond to multiple inquiries. Either they’re hiding something, or their customer service makes it so they aren’t worth your time and money.
3 dogsParticipantYeah my feelings exactly If they can’t respond I must have hit upon something . Another product off my list
