MemberThis totally explains why so many of my dog food brands have disapppeared
I really do think I will have to start researching making my own food
as the price will now skyrocket.

MemberYea I loved Chewy but now it will be just like Petsmart..
Petsmart didn’t like that Chewy was selling at lower prices
and were putting small retailors out of biz.
Petsmart states they are doing it for smaller businesses..
Amazing how when Chewy came along both them and Petco
both finally went for the lower priced food and free shipping
over $49.. but that will now change I am sure.Mike Sagman
AdminChewy was bought by PetSmart over a year ago.
They are the same great company and still partially guided by its original founders. Their amazing service continues to get better and faster all the time. In fact, Chewy just this month, opened a brand new (7th) distribution facility, in Goodyear, Arizona.

MemberI would like to add that as long as Amazon exists, and sells dog food, there will continue to be price pressure on other retailers to keep prices down.
Love them or hate them, Amazon does help keep prices down across many market segments.Bazuhi
MemberThe reason many foods have pulled out of Chewy is because:
They (Chewy aka Petsmart) are pushing prices down and manufacturers are not happy about it citing they don’t want small retailers to be put out of business, so they pulled their products to prevent the lower price being available.
.
Don’t get me wrong I love Chewy and recommend it to a lot of people along with adoptive dog families thru my rescue.

I did notice Petsmart and Petco and now Petsupplies plus have met Chewy’s pricesJacquelyn E
MemberAnd, Petsmart, Banfield, etc… now belong to MARS (candy company) Ugh !

MemberI recently heard a powerful presentation on human trafficking in USA. It seems that chocolate companies are among the biggest offenders, and MARS, makers of M&M’s and Reese’s and other yummy things, and now associated with Chewy, is one of the two worst of the chocolate industry. I feed my dog Zignature, and in my area of Indiana, it is next to impossible to find. Chewy’s price for it is only slightly lower than the more local seller’s, so I’ll drive an hour each way, pay a bit more, and try to help stop slave labor. I think it’s worth it.
