My dog is 9. I currently have him on Taste of the Wild highly recommended by my Vet. During his annual check-up we discussed challenges he is having with a paw/shoulder injury he suffered as a puppy which is coming back to haunt him periodically now leaving him lame on one leg for anywhere from 1 -3 hour. I have him on Glucasamine/MSM/Chondrotin combo from Pet Meds. My Vet has now suggested switching him to Science Diet Healthy Mobility. Upon review it has fillers of corn and I see it has the Glucasamine/MSM/Chondrotin in the food.

Does anyone have experience with this food or what are you doing for your dog in a similar situation?

    cakes42257 –

Science Diet Healthy Mobility is junk. You can get the same benefit by feeding your dog a quality food and supplementing with a quality joint supplement. Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM are all great for joint maintenance, but you may also want to consider adding a natural anti-inflammatory – such as turmeric, boswellia, yucca, tart cherry or omega 3’s.

Some folks in another forum give raves reviews for Acti-Flex. I’ve also just came across these two that I’m going to look into:
