I note that some cheaper supermarket brands and most premium brands that are available only through pet shop suppliers, both include various types of animal based dried meals as a source of protein in their list of ingredients. I would be interested to know if the meal used in both the less expensive supermarket and more expensive ‘premium’ brands are of similar quality and are derived from the same sources. I would think that many producers of dried kibble would purchase their dried meal from outside suppliers, rather than render animal carcasses as part of their in house operations.

To justify the much higher price of the premium brands it would be good to know that this major ingredient is derived from a source that only includes good quality, non diseased, dried muscle meat in their products.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
