A dog lacks the digestive enzymes required to use plant based proteins. Dogs don’t require carbs for energy either. My dog will eat broccoli and carrots as a treat or snack. Put a bowl of broccoli and a bowl of hamburger in front of him, he will eat the hamburger every time.
