Unchewed, I just leave in the package. Chewed, I would freeze if it’s damp, but if it’s dry within an hour, I’d just leave it out. Mine dried quickly. I’ve not had one get soft anywhere. If it absorbed enough saliva to soften, I’d freeze it.
