There are multiple causes of hypothyroidism, in dogs and people. If you are low in iodine and that is the reason you are hypothyroid, then your thyroid levels will have to be adjusted when you start taking something that brings up your iodine levels. But it’s a good thing to find out that your thyroid function issues were a product of low iodine. If you are hypothyroid for other reasons(like me), then iodine won’t help. And so it won’t hurt either.
