Hey Akari:
If he drinks the water after you strain the food from it, then just keep making a little meat/food water for him to drink in a separate bowl. And make the food like you normally do to keep those liquids flowing. But keep that fountain around and slowly work on introducing him to it.

I never had to get a urine sample from one of my cats, thank goodnes. That’s a clever way to gather a sample. I am going to keep that tip in mind for any possible future issues (hopefully no future issues)! 🙂
