Are you free feeding? Leaving food out all day long?
If so, not a good idea.
Try a food with NO potato. Measured amounts twice a day with a splash of water added.
Zignature, Nutrisca, Pro Plan Focus as a base, add a bit of scrambled egg (no milk) cooked in a tiny bit of olive oil as a topper.
