    Some time ago I found online an alternative brand of Kong stuffing cheese in a can type treat that was much less expensive than Kong and had pretty much the same ingredients but I can’t find it now. Does anyone know what the product might be?

    Cheese of any type is not recommended for dogs. What you describe sounds like chemical crap.
    You may want to revaluate your dog treat choices, imo.
