MemberI would find out WHY the dog is barking to start with. Most dogs, I would imagine, don’t bark for no reason. Get to the bottom of the why, and then go from there.

MemberCyndi nailed it. You need to find why they are barking and work at it from a behavioral standpoint. What you are suggesting is a shortcut to get around what you are looking for. I’m a sheltie owner, so I’m no stranger to what seems like needless barking. Boredom, something out there bothering them, demand barking, etc-all common causes
