Memberjust like title, all the editors choice recommended dog foods contain chicken, and so far he’s reacted pretty poorly to chicken foods. Any suggestions?

MemberUnless I’m mistaken, the Editors Choice list has brands of food, not specific formulas. Try another protein.

ParticipantYes, Marie is correct. The Editor’s Choice list is comprised of brands. I’m feeding a poultry free Whole Earth Farms formula right now. A lot of the brands have seafood recipes that are chicken free also. Hope this helps!

MemberMake sure to continue to monitor. German Shepherds are prone to Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). One of the hallmarks of the disease is loose stool. If your GSD has this reaction to more than just the chicken I would look into testing. Especially if the dog is lethargic. That is how we knew our GSD had something wrong and sure enough it was EPI.
