If you have a Tractor Supply near you, then I’d go for their new 4Health grain free. And if for some reason you do have to top their kibble with canned food, their 4Health canned food is only .99 a can! Very reasonable. Also, Rachel Ray has a new grain free food. I saw it at my local Meijer and Walmart. It’s also very reasonably priced. I’m not sure how big a bag it comes in, though.
