Pets have many diseases, just as people do. Some are diet related, some are breed related and some are from old age. I have a 13 year jold just diagnosed with Cushings Disease. He is eating Science Diet food and has been for 13 years. His Mother who was a Papillon (he is part Papillon and part bulldog), also died from Cushings at age 9 which is quite common in dogs. I have had 14 and 16 year old dogs die from old age related illnesses (stomach tumor, stroke) that ate plain old dog food from the grocery store. Nothing stops the progression of time. It is so sad that we can’t keep them with us always. I have 8 dogs and 5 cats right now. All on Heartgard and some on Science Diet and some on Beneful and Iams. They are all healthy until they hit that downward spiral towards old age. Just like me. ☺
