Thanks to each of you for your responses. Rescue Dane Mom’s chart was instructive. Still trying to figure out if there is a best “bang for the buck” five star out there. But with so many brands a pricing chart is a nightmare. And even the 5 star picks have their detractors, it appears you won’t know if it works till you feed it to your puppy. I think for this reason I will start with the 4 star rated Kirkland (which is definitely the bang for the buck winner in the 4 star group at less than $30 for 40 lb) and see how that goes. At $50+ for 30 lb bags for most of the brands the puppy would be eating better than my kids!
