we got a pound puppy 2 months ago (can’t figure out how to get his pic in my profile), and decided not to put up a tree because he’s into everrrrything. but…i don’t have a kid, so there’s no one to be disappointed. i think you should go for a small tree you can put on a table for your daughter, and make it totally hers – let her do the decorating! we cut back drastically on any decorations that are his level, because i don’t want to be yelling ‘leave it’ all month!
