Bobby tells me all the time cat food is fine for dogs when I catch him chowing down on it. He gets to eat any new foods the cats don’t like; it never goes to waste with Bobby around. AAFCO standards for minerals are similar for cats and dogs. It’s fine for dogs to eat cat food, but dog food is not fine for cats because they need added taurine in their food that dog food does not typically have in it. Some do, Fromm’s canned dog foods is one, Nature’s Variety frozen raw and canned dog food used to, but not anymore, and Wysong makes a kibble that is for both cats and dogs. I am sure there are other brands that add taurine to their dog recipes too.
