I think a phone call to the vet is in order, have the vet call you when he has a minute, I wouldn’t discuss it with the vet tech as I would want the veterinarian’s expertise on the matter. After all, what you describe is an abnormal discharge of body fluids.
He shouldn’t charge you for a phone call.
