I had silkie roosters that were exactly like that!! I ended up keeping them caged, because my kids were a lot shorted then, and one of them gouged a hole in Chicken Little’s side. That was NOT OK!!

It sounds like your really big one was actually a meat breed. They are bred to reach market weight in 49 days, so they do grow too big to be healthy and die young. They walk like sumo wrestlers, if they can walk at all. Disgusting and sad.
