Microchips are a backup plan, of course. And they might fail. BUT THEY MIGHT WORK. Don’t you want to give your pet every chance to get back home? I sure do. I keep ID on him at all times, along with the chip. But I would never say that you don’t need a chip– even if they are not perfect.
