Never feed solely based on feeding recommendations. There are quite a number of factors that affect how much any given dog should eat, so the only way to really determine how much your dog should eat is based on her body condition. You should be able to see where her last ribs are and the tops of her hip bones. She should have a nice tuck up and should have well defined muscles. Our old Dobie would eat until she exploded so desire for more food was NEVER a good way to tell if she should have more food.
