If it’s your first time using a preventative that you don’t know how will effect your dog I see nothing wrong with splitting the dose the first time just to be sure. Seeing as how these meds have been reported to cause massive seizures and even death within 24 hrs of administering. It’s rare but it’s all fine and dandy until it’s you and your dog.
