Reply To: Best dog food for yeast
My dog is a 10 year old goldendoodle. She’s been on Cal Nat grain-free forever and I have 2 bags left before I have to find an alternative. In July she was groomed and a few days after I noticed a very small flaky patch high on her chest. Not knowing what it was at the time she went again a couple weeks ago and the next day had licked herself from her chest to the paws of her front feet. The yeast patch was about a 3inch area on the chest this time. The vet gave me antibiotics and Apoquel. I don’t like either one since antibiotics kills the good and the bad bacteria and Apoquel suppresses the immune system and it just seems both aren’t the answer and would just make the situation worse. The groomer didn’t use anything new on her and she’d been going there since January. She does get incredibly stressed when she goes. any suggestions?
