ParticipantWOW! im new on the forum and i hope your poor dog is feeling better since it is 3 months laterā¦but if not⦠I have found that my local RESCUE groups..(not pounds) have a HUGE knowledge of everything that can go wrong with a dog.The rescue i got my dog from has a forum on her website. She also tells in detail how she is handling different things that are going on with some of her rescued dogs with health problems.(For example she just rescued an entire litter of pups with mange. They were so compromised healthwise that she could not give them the regular demodex (not sure of exact name) dip that they give mange infected dogs. She had experience and treated them in several holistic ways until they were strong enough to receive the strong stuff.) Maybe a local rescue would have some tried and true fixes for you! Good luck!

ParticipantSo sorry about your pug! I have a Boston/Rat terrier. She is 3 years old and I have just found a food that she does not throw up! She usually throws up about 1/2 hr after eating so it is not from eating too fastā¦.she just seems to have a very sensitive tummy (says the vet). She is also very very picky.I tried changing her diet to no grain,no chicken no meat, etcā¦to no avail. Four weeks ago I decided to try the refrigerated dog food FRESHPET Select. She LOVES it.She will only eat the chicken/carrot/spinachā¦.BUT she eats it and so far she has not been sick once! Alsoā¦when my large dog got an intestinal infection, the vet gave me a powdered probiotic to take with the antibiotic so that the good bacteria does not end up getting killed off also. It balances his stomachā¦it might be a good idea to keep your little pug on probiotics indefinitely. I hope he feels better soonā¦i know how hard it is to watch them be so sick from the natural act of eating.

ParticipantMy Lab got some kind of intestinal infectionā¦giardia, salmonella etc from 4Health when they had the recall a while ago. my vet put him on rice and boiled chicken for a week plus antibiotics and probiotics.I have found that the probiotics help to straighten out his tummy whenever it isnt feeling well. He eats the powder mixed in his food.I kept him on the probiotics for a month after his infection.
