Mike Sagman on Dog Food Calculator Hi Mellissa,Unfortunately, the 13.2 ounce on the can is the amount of food by ounces of weight and not by ounces of volume. For this reason, you should recheck the can or call the product's customer servive number to retrieve the number of calories per kg.Wish I could be more help.

Mike Sagman on Acana Dog Food (Dry) Hi Aac,The usual minimum protein content for a 5 star food is about 30%. With just 28% protein and their included peas, too, these 2 recipes would be overrated at 5 stars. So, thanks to your sharp eye, I've downgraded these 2 products to a still respectable 4 stars. Thanks for calling this to me attention.

sandy on Dog Food Calculator Think of it as 377/can rather than 377/cup.  If I put in 20 lb dog, senior/neutered, 377 cal/cup = 1.25 cups would be 1 and 1/4 can.

Yentl - Rescued By Dogs on Brothers Complete Grain Free (Dry) Does anyone know the ash content for the red meat formula?
February 22, 2012 1:24 pm

Mellissa on Dog Food Calculator If the calorie content on the canned dog food says 377 calories per 13.2 ounce can, do I need to convert this into 8 ounces for a cup serving before using this calculator? If so, I calculated the calories to 28.56 per ounce which is 228.48 calories per cup.  Is this right?

Yentl - Rescued By Dogs on Great Life Grain Free (Dry) Hi Linda,I posted this in the Great Life dry reveiwThere is a lot of controversy on Great Life right now. The bags of vet preferred in stores say venison on the label and not venison meal. The oil you mentioned is also missing from the label. They have a hard time keeping their labels accurate. With so many quality foods out there I would stay away from Great Life!

I'm trying to put weight on the German Shepherds so I'm feeding 3.75 - 4 c./day. A maintenance diet for the Shepherds should be 3 - 3.5 c. maybe even less. melissa on Orijen Adult (Dry)  Guest-I would stop the Orijen and  find something with a lower fat content for your schnauzers- Schnauzers for whatever reason seem to be "fat sensitive" and it can bring on pancreatitis in the breed.
