Merrick Dog Treats Recalled for Salmonella

Merrick dog treats may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria according the the United States Food and Drug Administration.

On January 14, 2010, the FDA issued a warning to consumers not to use Merrick Beef Filet Squares distributed by Merrick Pet Care of Amarillo, Texas and marked with a “Best by 111911″ package date.

The suspect product was distributed nationwide through both local and Internet retailers.

    Hi Seanhenry… I’m not aware of any recalls from Merrick since January 30, 2011 for some of their treats products.     It seems like Merrick is recalling a lot of their products. Merrick manufactures healthy grain free food and treats made in USA. It is hard to find healthy dog treats made in America (not China). Is it safe to feed your dog anything but human food?
