I have a 12 year old JRT and a couple Border Collies and I feed much higher protein than BBW and my dogs are doing better than ever. My JRT is very active, very athletic, and very muscular. Something that she wasn’t a year and a half ago, before I started feeding this way. Some dogs have difficulty digesting high protein because their bodies are not used to handling it, but that just means they need a little extra help until their body adjusts.
