What was recalled?
The affected 44lb bags of Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food have a Lot Code 410B2TXT02 and a Best By Date of March 4, 2025. You can find this information on the back of the bag near the base, next to the bar code.
It’s a limited voluntary recall affecting 315 bags of product that were sold by Walmart in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
The presence of loose metal parts in dog food could pose a potential choking threat to dogs, as well as causing internal damage if swallowed, and damage to teeth if chewed. Mars Petcare U.S. did not specify what type of metal it was, nor how it got into the bags of food.
Mars Petcare U.S. is working with Walmart in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas to ensure that the affected products are no longer sold and have been removed from inventory.
No other Pedigree or Mars Petcare U.S. products are affected or are being recalled.
What to do?
If you’ve purchased this product with Lot Code 410B2TXT02 and a Best By Date of March 4, 2025, you’re requested to stop using it immediately.
If you have fed your dog some of the contaminated Pedigree dog food, Mars Petcare U.S. is advising you to monitor them for unusual behavior and contact a veterinarian in the event of any concerns.
