December 3, 2025 — Fromm Family Foods has announced a voluntary recall of one lot of its Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe frozen dog food due to potential plastic contamination.
What’s Recalled?
The recall involves Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe, a gently cooked frozen dog food packaged in 16-ounce chubs. The affected lot carries UPC 072705135004 and the code “Best By 12/25/2026 B01.” A total of 300 cases are included in this recall.
Where Was It Sold?
The recalled product was distributed through neighborhood pet stores in Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, as well as Ontario, Canada.
Why the Recall?
Fromm Family Foods received consumer complaints about plastic fragments found inside the chubs. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, ingestion of plastic can cause vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, stomach discomfort, gastrointestinal upset, and in severe cases, intestinal obstruction.
The company stated:
“We have identified the error, and in addition to our existing safety process, we have put corrective actions in place to prevent this from happening again.”
What To Do?
Pet parents should stop feeding the affected product immediately. The food can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund. If returning is not possible, it should be disposed of safely so that pets, children, or wildlife cannot access it.
They should also monitor their dogs for symptoms such as vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, or lethargy. If any of these signs appear, a veterinarian should be contacted promptly.
