So far, I’ve been unable to determine the exact date of the dog food recall notice itself.  But according to Therese of Petsit USA, information was posted on the Wysong website on Monday (October 12, 2009).

  • I don’t know your definition of “reputable”, but Nature’s Variety just had some of their raw food recalled due to plastic pieces possibly finding their way into the food.

And, for the record, incorrectly handling or preparing a raw diet can not only be bad for your dog, but also bad for you… the owner.

I believe a well-balanced raw diet is best for a dog, but I wouldn’t act as if there can never be a problem with it.

How does Wysong knock raw food? They avidly promote raw feeding. They sell freeze-dried raw products, pre-mix powders designed to balance fresh raw meat diets and they promote feeding fresh raw foods in their literature.

It’s funny how this company knocks down raw food yet their products has been recalled and I have not herd raw food being recalled at all! “Raw is Law”
