Pedigree Voluntarily Recalls Two Lots of High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor Canned Wet Dog Food

July 2, 2026 – Mars Petcare U.S. announced a voluntary recall for two lots of PEDIGREE Can High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor 13.2oz for dogs after products intended for destruction may have entered the U.S. marketplace. According to Mars, the lots did not meet company safety and quality standards and may contain metal and plastic foreign material. 

Mars is investigating how the products entered the marketplace and is helping consumers identify and remove affected products. 

The affected products being recalled are part of only two lots.

Product: PEDIGREE® Can High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor 13.2oz for dogs

Lot codes: 

  • 613C3KKCFC 
  • 613C1KKCFC
  • Safety Risk: Pieces of hard and sharp metal with plastic may be present and could cause harm if consumed.

At this time: 

  • No other PEDIGREE or Mars Petcare US, Inc products are affected or being recalled.
  • No related pet illnesses or injuries have been reported. 

What to do

Pet owners should stop feeding these products immediately and contact PEDIGREE for a replacement product.

Reporting Pet Food Problems

The FDA encourages consumers to report complaints about pet food products electronically through the Safety Reporting Portal. Consumers may also visit the SmartHub – Safety Intake Portal – Report a Product Problem for electronic assistance with submitting a report.

Canadians can report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
