May 22, 2026 — Raaw Energy Dog Food of Howell, New Jersey, announced a voluntary recall of products produced between 7/17/25 and 12/23/25 due to potential Listeria contamination. Another batch date of 3.31.26 Beef and Turkey Medley was also recalled.
Not all products from this period tested positive. Some products produced during this timeframe weren’t tested, and bacterial presence was identified during the same period. As a result, products manufactured within these dates could possibly be affected.
In a statement on its website, Raaw Energy Dog Food announced it will be temporarily stopping all production of dog food effective from May 21, 2026. This pause is necessary, states Raaw Energy Dog Food, so it can evaluate current issues, address them properly, and take the appropriate corrective actions.
Raaw Energy Dog Food says strengthening quality control measures, purchasing a pathogen detection system, and cleaning and treating drains and sewer lines, are among those corrective actions.
Raaw Energy Dog Food was subject to a previous FDA Advisory in January 2026.

About Listeria
According to guidance from the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes can be exposed to the pathogen through consumption of contaminated food. Risk of human illness from Listeria monocytogenes contaminated pet food increases if people don’t thoroughly wash their hands after handling the food or having contact with their pet, or by not thoroughly cleaning contaminated surfaces.
People infected with Listeria may display symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, fever, and lethargy. Severe infections can result in meningitis and death. Pets exposed to contaminated food can be infected without showing symptoms — but infected pets, even if they don’t show symptoms, can act as carriers and transfer Listeria monocytogenes through their feces and saliva.
What should you do if you have these foods?
People who have purchased any of the potential affected products — listed in full here — are advised not to use, sell or allow their pets to consume this food. The items should be discarded immediately, to help reduce the risk of illness.
