Assuming your vet cleared her for Hypothyroidism. Feed ZiwiPeak lamb freeze dried for 4 weeks. Add some of their wet canned food as well. Give her one Dasaquin w/ MSM for large dogs daily. No treats, lotsa water. Start with a brisk 30 minute walk per day, fast walking no stopping. Then 2 walks per day. Then add fetching. Keep her moving.

Zignature is the best food. They have limited ingredient & multi protein formulas. Chewy.com lists all the ingredients AND what’s NOT in it. Also do the Clostridium fecal test, which is separate from the routine fecal testing. Parasites could have been ingested with the rotting dog food that was given. If any food smells bad, throw it away immediately.

They ship 6 weeks of food to you every 6 weeks. You have to freeze it for that long, which is quite the opposite of fresh. I cancelled when I found out.

Stop the food, meds and oatmeal baths asap. Oatmeal feeds yeast and itchy issues. Feed Zignature kibble which is the best for food intolerances. And shampoo with Aroma Paws honeysuckle & jasmine formula. Your pup will stop suffering immediately, trust me.

Go by the Bristol Stool Chart. Buy a small bag of Orijens puppy. If that doesn’t work, Zignature kibble is #1 for food intolerances. Stop the Hill’s asap. And no slow feeder, it’s frustrating for the dog, eating should be a relaxed and fun time. Try hand feeding for awhile.

Hearthard Plus is the best, given once a month, slice into pieces. Nexgard for flea & ticks, once a month, give whole. Separate like one on the 1st, the other on the 15th. Hopefully, your vet has performed ALL blood & fecal tests specifically for parasites. And up to date with vaccines.

My American Staffordshire Terriers are part Chinook, we did a DNA test, they have the black around the eyes & snout!

You’re doing fine, puppies eat a lot, withholding type or quantity in food is a myth. You wouldn’t control a human baby on how many times he/she should poop into their diaper, you know?

Caution is for large breed pups that are prone to hip dysplasia and cruciate tears (like my dogs). They had eating and growth spurts until after 3 yrs of age, stopping at 77 lbs each. I don’t free feed or force them to eat more or less. As long as the poops are healthy and there are no food intolerances, you can start rotating different kibble to introduce new protein. Follow the Bristol stool scale.

I fed Orijen puppy food and now they thrive on Zignature dog food.

Urinary tract infection or kidney disease is usually the cause of very strong urine smells emitting from a pet’s skin/fur. It’s not from food. Time to run those tests at the vet.

Do an allergy test on your dog at http://www.glacierpeakholistics.com/alternative-allergy-testing-for-dogs.html

Rotate all proteins until you get the results back, unless you already know which ones cause physical outbreaks or diarrhea.

Zignature dog food is excellent for sensitive stomachs. Key Benefits:
Grain-free and multi-protein formula (single protein formulas too)
    Gluten-free diet
    No potato, chicken or eggs
Complete and balanced diet for all life stages
    Made in the USA

Good luck…..and get a new vet doctor.

Ask your vet if he needs oxygen & fluid treatments and/or a blood transfusion. Larvae may take many weeks to detect. Keep his bowls, toys and linens constantly washed/bleached. Pick up poop immediately or better yet catch it with a bag. Find a non-dog public park to enjoy. Groom him daily, use a tight flea comb and feet washing especially. And feed ZiwiPeak Daily-Dog Lamb Cuisine Air-Dried Dog Food. Order online if things you need aren’t local.

Stop everything you’re feeding. Fast for 8 hours, provide a lot of water. Mix a bit of Hill’s with Zignature limited ingredient formula (lamb). Do the dog allergy/food intolerance test at http://www.glacierpeakholistics.com. Also make sure your pet doesn’t have Giardia or Clostridium in his fecal matter.

    Gluten-free diet
    No potato, chicken or eggs
Complete and balanced diet for all life stages

Stay away from all grains, brewer’s yeast and oatmeal anything. Same for treats. Yeast also feeds on oatmeal based shampoo. Bath in Aroma Paws honeysuckle and jasmine formula, all natural. Order food from Chewy.com, ingredients and reviews listed on everything.

Stop all the medications, it weakens the immune system. Wipe out ears daily with a tissue, q-tip out the yeast. Get ear drops from vet and keep at it.

My pups were on Orijen for the first two years of their lives. Then they became severely allergic to chicken. This sometimes happens if a protein is fed for long periods of time and there’s no rotation of different foods (which I didn’t know at the time). Otherwise, both brands are excellent with rave reviews. If I could, I’d switch back in a heartbeat.

Lotus canned formulas in beef shank or pork shoulder. However, you need to feed a lot of wet to match the nutritional value in dry food. And your dog needs fiber. I don’t think your vet drinks soup 24/7, right?

TOP 4 causes of Maltese facial hair discoloration:

**RED YEAST INFECTION – This is a very common health issue with certain dog breeds, including the Maltese. When the facial hairs are wet it is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
**BLOCKED TEAR DUCTS – This health issue is present in about 10% of all Maltese dogs. This needs to be corrected with surgery.
**EAR INFECTION – How can an ear infection cause tear stains? Just about everything on a dog’s face is interconnected. To keep ear infections away, it is important to dry the inner ear very carefully after bath time. Do not allow moisture to stay inside. Excessive long hairs should be removed with a tweezers. Your dog’s veterinarian will prescribe antibiotics if your Maltese has an ear infection.
**WATER – Believe it or not, the simple element of water can cause tear staining on a Maltese if that dog is drinking water with a high mineral content. If all other possible reasons have been eliminated, it is suggested to give your dog only filtered or bottled water.

Unless his whole body’s itching, it’s not the food unless it contains artificial coloring that’s rubbing onto his hairs. See what the vet finds first.

Its ingredients are: Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Flaxseed, Soybean Mill Run, Brewers Rice, Soybean Meal, Pork Fat, Powdered Cellulose, Chicken Liver Flavor. So your answer is no, do not feed this garbage.

For joint health given daily (with visible results), get Nutramax’s Dasuquin with MSM soft chews. And for dry food, Halo’s Vigor in the pork, venison and salmon formula. They use millet for grain. The kibble is very small and my pups love it. You can also finely grind it in a blender if it’s still too big.

I have tried all bones of all kinds and some are just downright dangerous, one snag in the tract and it’s over. Surgery won’t even save your dog. I only now trust Barkworthies Odor-Free Joint & Mobility 6″ Bully Sticks Dog Treats and Zuke’s Dental Bones in berry crisp formula.

I do not give it daily either, chewing things do not clean away plaque and bacteria. I use Virbac’s C.E.T. Enzymatic Toothpaste in vanilla-mint flavor. My boys don’t like brushes so I scrub with a thin cotton towel wrapped around my finger. I only brush the stubborn stains on the back tooth.

Do tests for Gastroenteritis, cancer or kidney failure. She may also be licking something toxic on the ground once in awhile. Do not feed that Science Diet. Go through a bag of ZiwiPeak lamb formula to stabilize her before deciding on a quality kibble to which she’s not intolerant. Get from Chewy.com. Glacierpeakholistics.com has an allergy assessment panel you can do on her as well. Well worth the money.

First, stop feeding Wysong immediately, fast for 24 hours, provide lots of water. Rinse and wipe their eyes out with sterile saline. Give both a bath. I tried Wysong before and it wreaked all kinds of havoc on my pups, plus it eventually molded in the bag. I avoid formulas that contain yeast extract and fermentation products. Pretty disgusting ingredients.

If you haven’t already, do a full panel blood test and fecal test, and abdominal/intestinal X-ray for any blockages. Check his coat for fleas/ticks. And trash that Purina like immediately. Do Orijen dry puppy food and Esbilac powder milk formula four times a day, no free feeding. And lotsa fresh water available, one inside and one outside the home, change daily. Watch the poop.

Avoid foods with Brewers Rice, Chicken By-Product Meal, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Egg Product, Calcium Sulfate, Lactic Acid, Chicken Liver Flavor. Do not feed vet prescription food.

Cleanse the body by fasting for a day before introducing new food. Lotsa water. Two to three weeks of ZiwiPeak dog food (lamb formula is the best). Do urinalysis at the vet. Switch to a kibble like Zignature Zssentials.

Large pups need lotsa protein and properly calculated bone growth in their 1st years. Don’t read too much into marketing labels of large or senior or weight loss, etc. Nothing beats high quality food n appropriate exercise. My pups are 80 lbs, but look medium. All muscle. I push Zignature Zssentials because I’ve seen the results from all the toxins it DOESN’T contain. And I’ve gone thru every food, Wellness, too.

Well, it’s a Purina brand dog food that contains animal digest and “botanical” oils. No lecture here, just try budget friendly Zignature Zssentials and add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil per meal. It changed everything around for my pups. And I mean inside n out everything.

My philosophy is to have your dogs the best they can be every single day, whether they have 5 years left , 5 months or 5 days. Every moment is a gift, why not give them a dietary boost, it’s never too late! You know what to fall back on if they show signs of intolerances.

Soft freeze dried is easy on the teeth and digestion. Super healthy clean raw without the freezing/ thawing frustrations. ZiwiPeak is great but can go bad in the bag faster, moisture factor. Primal Nuggets have long shelf life, crumble, add water and mix. Both are complete balanced meals, you may see their energy pick up, too. Remember, protein is still very important for senior dogs. Introduce with a slow transition and have fun with it!

Orijen Adult for your other babies just look for food sensitivities. As a super healthy topper, add a little Primal Freeze Dried Nuggets (raw), just add a bit of water. That Nutrish stuff…..one word. As a puppy, your Munchkin should be devouring everything, 4 small meals round the clock. Time to do a complete wellness exam, including full blood work and fecal panel, plus abdominal / intestinal x-rays. After it’s all clear, try Orijen puppy food (dry) and ZiwiPeak (wet, as a topper). No need to mix it into a sloppy mess, just place on top or to the side. Primal freeze dried nuggets is a new topper my pups love, healthy and unprocessed. Ingredients are listed on Chewy.com. But go to the vet first!
