Vianca VMemberNo Victor distributor and all other food are either taste of the wild, acana and origen as well as anf will se if chewy ships.
Vianca VMemberHave you tried the wellness core reduced fat with a little groud turkey as a topper with some broth. That works for my senior, it keeps weight of so there is less stress on his back and joints and he seems to love it. Also do you have access to a pool, a jacuzzi or have a big bath tub. I had on of my dogs work out in out tub for his arthritis pain and it helped a lot.
November 13, 2014 at 10:28 pm in reply to: Recent diagnosis of IBS. What food to feed? #57172 Report AbuseVianca VMemberMy moms 11year old Chihuahua has had a similar problem since she was young and a few months ago she began to stop eating and loose weight the only food she tolerates is the wellness turkey stew. It seems simple but its been the best thing for her, she no longer get bloody stool or acid reflux, she is also no longer in pain and loves the food.
Vianca VMemberI had one if my dogs on the hills prescription mrtabolic diet and although he did loose a lot of weight in a steady pace I then slowly transitioned to the wellness reduce fat core and he is doing beautifully.
Vianca VMemberYes, when I spoke about the Small Breed formula I was referring to the Complete Health Small Breed (with Grains). I was however somewhat confused
Vianca VMemberInkedMarie, thank you for your suggestion I had been considering the core reduced fat too. As for my rescue, initially he had been diagnosed with a fungus 2 years ago, in may my primary vet decided to put him in a more aggressive treatment in order to finish with his condition, unfortunately it really didnt go well his skin got even more agravated and he became slightly anorexic and lethargic. After a chat with a friend of mine who manufactures natural dog shampoo she suggested I visit her vet. Her vet who really impressed performed a uv light test, a Skin Scraping/Trichogram, and a Skin Cytology. He diagnosed him with staph a bacterial infection, Candida, and allergies. He prescrived Apoquel 5.4 mg, Ku Shen Si Wu, Dandruff Formula 0.5g Caps, Cefpodoxime 100mg, and a antibacterial antifungal shampoo and conditioner. He also like I mentioned put him on Royal Canin Hypoallegenic Small Breed 8.8 lbs, these are the ingredients :Brewer’s Rice, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Chicken Fat, Natural Flavors, Vegetable Oil, Sodium Silico Aluminate, Dried Beet Pulp, Monocalcium Phosphate, Calcium Sulfate, Salt, Fish Oil, Fructooligosaccharides, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Taurine, Chlorine Chloride, DL-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (source Of Vitamin E), Inositol, Niacin Supplement, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source Of Vitamin C), D-Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Vitamin A Acetate, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Marigold Extract (Tagetes Erecta L), Zinc Proteinate, Zinc Oxide, Ferrous Sulfate, Manganese Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Copper Sulfate, Magnanous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite And Rosemary Extract, Preserved With Natural Mixed Tocopherols And Citric Acid. Wold love any suggestions
Vianca VMemberI’m somewhat limited by my options, we have PETsMART, and a few independent pet stores, I’m taking one of my dogs to a specialist today to see what he suggest and the other one is going back on hills prescription diet metabolic. I really wanted them to be on a more natural diet but my dashound is putting on to much weight and what I would really hate is exposing him to herniated disk or arthritis complications. Lol, as I write this I am finding out that my mix dog (the one with the allergies/skin fungus) is going to be on royal canin hypoallergenic small breed. 🙁 I’m so frustrated tried natural and ended up with chemicals, I hope its for the best. Any thoughts?

Vianca VMemberMy mother chihuahua is incredibly picky eater, to the point that she preffers to have a hypoglicemic attack rather than eat, lately upon my request she tried wellness turkey stew and for the moment she eats and enjoys this food, its canned and a little expensive, but we make it work.
Vianca VMemberI preffer turkey above the others, I do have to admit that for a long time I fed my my pups chicken but recently I spoke with a very reputable peke breeder and she mentioned that there is a reason to believe that there could be a link between chicken and epilepsy, although this is just heresay and she did not provide evidence to sustain her claim, I opted to avoid this meat.
Vianca VMemberI recently changed all my dog from science diet to wellness, my 2 month old peke puppy eats wellness small breed puppy, my 5 year old rescue eats wellness small breed adult with wellness turkey stew as a topper, my 8 year old mini dashhound eats wellness small breed adult too, and my mother 11 year old chihuahua eats wellness turkey stew. I had been struggling with which food to pick and concidered the core fish but opted not to pick that one because of some youtube videos demostrating the bones in the kibble, however I still wanted wellness because it was a very good, its was available to me in comparison to orijen, acana, and other 5 star foods, and it fit into my budget to be honest. The foods that I give my fur babbies do contain salmon but I have not seen any bones in them, and belive me Ive looked, also in comparison to the bones white fish have, salmon bones are much smaller and less harmful so if they were to be present the would most likely not cause any harm.
